The Calm after the Storm (Leila)

"Oh sorry, I just realized what you said. So I admire your control Tantra, there has to be a reason behind this veil you have. You intrigue me, even when you give me those death stares just like that. I just want a little insight into you. So I can avoid that stare and perhaps we could be like friendly together."

Leila shrugged but her eyes looked just at Tantra now. Hoping she'd said enough to please her

Tantra delayed her answer just looking at Leila as usual.
"One of the first two things I learned to control were my tongue and my curiousity. Those two are the worst advicers that a vampire may have in her immortal unlife."

Then silence ruled again over the irony of Tantra's share of her past.

Leila sat back against the wall again. The lady was just going to remain a mystery to Leila and left her with cutting words to think about as usual. She took out her mirror again trying not to get frustrated and fussed over her face until Stein's men arrived.

Over the edge of the mirror Leila could see Tantra smiling at her frustation and still she was silent.

"You enjoy fucking with me don't you."

Leila sad in a witty upbeat voice.

Tantra's smile just got wider.

The silence became thick and unbareable. Of course that Leila could have heard the sound of the beating music outside of the room but at this point the silence was far louder.

Leila looked at the woman and rolled her eyes. She could only take a few more seconds of the silence before she had to get out. Damned if she wasn't one of the creepiest people Leila ever met. One minute she was sweet and mothering and the next... words couldn't even describe her. She just shook her head and got off the wall walking towards the door, just to get away for a second. Then as she clutched the handle on the door she heard the music and opened it and stepped outside.

Leila stepped back under the blades insistence her hands left the door knob and she was forced to retreat silent but not afraid. Not yet anyway.

Leila's body flew unexpectedly against the wall. The shock of being flung along with the daggers hitting the wall near each ear shocked her but not enough to make her lose her bearings. She was pissed now, Tantra was batting her on purpose. She took both of the daggers handles and yanked them out of the wall. She jumped to her feet then stood like some fake sexy ninja, challenging and ready.

Leila caught on all too quickly what Tantra was trying to do. Seemed like she wanted to play a little sparing game. The knife on the neck meant Leila lost and the kick to the groan...

"Owww."

She grunted as Tantra's weight went to her crotch. Her lips curled under in frustration. She hooked one of her legs between Tantra's and around to the outside in an effort to trip her after she brought her knee back down then she reached up for the left knife with her right hand and slashed the right one down across where Tantra's bladed hand just was.

Leila's hook on Tantra's legs worked a little too well Tantra went to the floor inmediately just with enough timing to dodge Leila's attack just by falling to the floor. That's when Leila noticed that Tantra had also hooked her feet around Leila's ancle making a grappling on the knee that was absolutely painful forcing Leila to fall on her face.

Leila felt herself tumbling forward, her arms moved in front of herself to brace herself to roll instead of fall. But she needed to get out of Tantra's control before she landed. Her right foot came off the ground [ST: I] When Leila lifted only supporting foot from the ground her trajectory changed going even faster to the ground, with her hands busy holding one knife each she managed to stop her face from hitting to the ground but her knuckles stroke hard and painfully against the wooden floor.

Leila might not have been so great at using weapons yet but she knew how to use her body to get out of tight binds, on the floor Leila turned and rotated her legs out of Tantra's lock then as quickly as she could. She was standing near the door now, dagger in one hand, door knob on the other. She had years of fighting off her father to thank for that. She smiled to her sire and waited for permission to go.

Leila was still feeling the pain on her knee and her knuckles, her hair was a mess and the combat itself was very challenging. Then she noticed, Leila wasn't scared not even a little, the pain was quickly fading away and even more important she was not defenseless anymore.

Leila felt a bit more confidence in herself at the moment. As if she wasn't already confident enough most times. She looked at her sire with a sly sideways grin.

"Will there be more sparring later? Can I keep these daggers?"

Leila paused and considered what her sire was saying. This was an entirely different life for her. She grew up in the lime light. The center of attention, the apple of many eyes and the envy of many hearts. She had it all. Anything she wanted at her command and now she had to hide, to veil and conceal all of the things that were ingrained in her. She bit her lip as her thoughts wrapped around her. She humbled herself for the first time in a while.

"You are absolutely right. I want to be a benefit and an asset to the clan. Not a detriment. I will learn what I can and hopefully it will be swift for all of our benefit."

Tantra held her frown lowering her head, if she was human she would have migrane. In that very second Leila's phone rang.

Leila looked at her sire. She had no idea how to please the woman. But there wasn't much more to think on they before her phone rang. She brought the device to her ear and answered.

"Hello?"

A screechie voice sounded at the phone.
"Hey! Here is Little Boy. We're outside at the back door"

"Oh yeah, be out there in a moment."

Leila clicked off the phone and stuck it back in her purse.

"They're here... Hey Tantra?"

She said softly hoping not to rouse her anger any more.

"If I want to keep these where do you suggest I put them?"

She indicated the daggers. She didn't want to be stupid about all this, but she needed to take something with her.

Tantra was obviously upset about Leila.
"Would it be too much to ask to keep it out of all eyes, even in plain sight?

Leave it here for now. Go and finish this first" pointing at the trash can.

Leila nodded handing it over, begrudging it's uses for the future. Then she grabbed the trash can's handle and brought it to the door. She opened it and stepped outside, leaving the trash by the door. She looked around for Stein's men and waited for them to approach her.
