The Slumber (Leila)

Sorayya got to the little room where she sent her last day, it was exactly as she remember, except by the fact that her bed was made and everything seemed organized.

Leila proceeded to her little room, taking note that someone must have straightened things up around there. She sat on the bed considering what had transpired that night and what her new existence meant to her. Firstly she'd hoped not to stay in this drab room for much longer. She felt impoverished and that was something she would not tolerate for too long. She laid down looking at the ceiling still pondering and quietly whispering her new name.

"Leila, Leila, Leila..."

As the sun rose from the east, Sorayya started to feel something strange, something that was not alright. At first her body felt heavy, even was difficult to blink, her legs and arm became unresponsive to her will, and eventually her whole body paralysed. It was somehow as an imprisonment, like a magical restrain within her own body, bounded with invisible chains and subdued to inmovility.

The weight of Leila's body and the apparent disconnection of her nervous system was strange and frightening to her. She tried and willed her body to move but to no avail. Her mind started to panic, then she recalled Tantra's last words:

"Let darkness embrace you during Day-Death."

She reconciled that thought with her own.

"Death, death, let the darkness embrace you during your Day-Death."

She was dead and her body was returning to its dying state once more. The mantra calmed her down enough for her to realize what had to happen, and so she lay still waiting for what was to become of her.

and then she finally slumbered...
