Tristana was only six years old and her mother took her to visit the Arts and Ars of NYC, an small gallery near the  Metropolitan Museum of Art. A friend of hers, so she called them, was giving an exhibition and invited her to come. This was supposed some sort of a 'date' a concept that little Tristana had already grasp to some extent and in this case it meant she wasn't sure about being that guy's "friend" or that she was taking him already too seriously, after all she was bringing her daughter.

A&A of NYC was an small office in the base floor of an small building but yet cozy, it had room for less than fifteen people at a time and could exhibit no more than twenty paintings, depending of the size of 'em of course. This artist friend had eight pictures about half the max capacity of the place but not all paintings were the same: two were the classical oil over cloth canvas but the rest were a little more creative.

Hot summer of 69 (Flashback) 22-1500

Among the not classical pieces was one that surely was something to look at, it had a relief parts of the painting were bold, literally jumping out of the picture in a three dimensional effect giving the rest of it's depth with a beautiful contrast and lights control to make it look like an actually three dimensional room inside this flat canvas. The theme of the surrealistic girl on the of her toes trying to reach a balloon on the ceiling made look almost like she was floating or flying milliliters over the floor.

The girl of the balloon was the title, had strange solid colors but she seemed so realistic that resulted mesmerizing to look at. Caughting Tristanas attention with an open mouth for minutes that seemed seconds in her timeline.

In the mean while thoughts were scatter in the back of her head, one of them the last 'friends' of her mom she had met. From too old to walk without a cane but kind, to really smelly and rude. None was worth the air they were breathing and all without exception were artist, from musicians to painters, even a ventriloquist once but none had been close to capturing Tristana like this one but she had her reserves on the kind of asshole 'that guy' could be, despite the miracle that painting was.

Young Tisitina was always very protective of her mommy. Her older siblings didn't seem to care about their mothers potential suitors the way that Tristina did. In Tristina's young child like mind her mother was a grand queen and she a princess.  There should only be the best man to be in her little kingdom. Yes the potential suitors for her mother were nice at times, but Justina always felt that they were never interested in her feelings. Just her mom. She didn't particularly care for these "dates" he mother kept trying to go on. None of the men her mother had chosen to enter their lives seemed to fit into the puzzle that was Tristina's life.

Young Tristina liked the idea of the gallery that her mother was taking her to. The White Walls , the winding corridors splashed with colorful paintings were like little windows of a of beauty  labyrinth to Tristina's young childlike mind. She  wanted to race through the building to find the prize at the end, but she had more manners than most young children and knew that she should not run inside the building, besides she would miss taking in all of the beauty that hung on the walls.

Once inside the building young Tristina walked meticulously around looking at all of the paintings that she could see without leaving her mother's side for too long. It took a good nudge from her mother to get her to know that this place was safe for her to explore on her own while her mother talked to her new "friend".

One by one she gave a lengthy pause to look at each and every painting. She admired them not only for their color and visual media, but for the techniques in which they were created.

Though her mother had to remind her to "only touch with your eyes"
She even caught herself reaching up and touching one or two of the oil paintings to feel the texture under her fingers and try to figure out how it was created. She normally wasn't disobedient, but she just couldn't help herself sometimes, giving in to her whims and childish curiosity.

When Tristina finally reached the balloon painting she was immediately captivated she stood there admiring the work.. seeing herself as the little girl with the balloon . And in that brief moment  of longing she wanted nothing more than to have a balloon of her own.

She gave pause and walked around looking at the painting from every angle seeing how it shifted in its view.  it was truly like something she had never seen before. She reached her small hand up and gently caressed the surface ever-so-slightly. The piece of art moved Tristina so much that she wanted to try to create it herself. She took from her nap sack her sketching book and some crayons sat on the floor and started to draw the figure she saw. Sadly for her crayons could never do justice the beauty that she was admiring. She wanted desperately to figure out how this was created.

Time seemed to be lost to her and she decided that this was her favorite piece in the hole gallery. She thought that whoever had created this Masterwork truly must be exceptional individual. .

The sounds went and go and surprisingly no one interrupted Tristana in her game, attempting to draw that same picture. Eventually the room went silent and hunger, thirst and fatigue made her snap out of her own world. The place was half dark, Tristana looked around and the place was almost empty, except for a janitor cleaning at far.

It was a moment of panic when she jumped on her feet looking for her mom guided by the sound of her voice. She was not far away, in a bench back in the small room sitting with a guy with thick glasses and a black beret. Both were smoking cigarettes and they were just sitting there talking. Tristana looked at herself, looking at her dress trashed with the dirty floor she had lay on for hours, her hands and face colored with all the colours of the rainbow as she sketched over and over again.

Her mom had to bite her lip more than once but she later learned that Robert insisted let her pursue her passion, "Spirit of the Muse" he called it, nothing should interfere. Robert was a 50 something male with a thin ginger beard and redish brown hair with the cliche look of an artist with the wool scarf and everything. Very low counterhigh tone of voice, sophisticated and eloquent always.

After the excuses and apologies mom decided to bring him home for dinner. There after Tristana had the chance to bath and change some clothes Oliver, her sister and Tristana were sitting at the table having a little small talk after having some home made spaguetti with red sauce.

Young Tristina snapped out of her own little world of colors and inspiration to find herself back to the reality of the passage of time. Her heart was in a panic  as she looked around at her surroundings. Creeping thoughts of being abandoned and forgot about started to slowly find there way into her mind.

▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … Mommy.."

She said getting up off of the dirty floor and looking around in the darkness.
<."How long have I been here?">
She thought to herself. "Mommy must be worried..
<...She didn't leave me.. Did she?"
>

Tristina quickly gathers her sketch book and crayons, shoving them into her tiny knapsack with hast.

▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … Mommy.???."

She called ounce again and heard her mother finally call back. A quick burst of relief finally washed her with a small child and she quickly scurried to go find her mother.

Seeing her mother just relaxing with this strange man gave her pause as she came into the room.
.
<.... Have they been just talking this whole time?... How boringj.>
Her young mind thought, though there was something about the man's look she liked. Tristina ran to her mother happily and excited to show off her drawings. It was clearly nothing compared to what was in this Gallery but none the less Tristina was proud of her creation. She even showed it off to her mother's new friend, and soaked up the praise she was given for her efforts.

At home after a cleaning up and a change of clothing Tristiina was starving, but even at her young age she tryed to have good table manners. Though once the topic of the Art Exhibit came up she started to speak a million miles a minute about how much she loves it And the various paintings that caught her eye.

▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
"...mommy there was this beautiful painting, it was of a little girl holding a balloon. It made me want a balloon too. I love the colors, can I have a balloon too? I think I will draw balloons, all colors… Pink, red, blue, but not sky blue.. The colors will run into each others then you won't know where the balloon ends and the sky began. -hee-hee
When can we go back? .We can go back can't we? I want to see more ! I want to be a famous artist! My works are going to be shown all over the place when i grow up, maybe even on Mars! I want to paint stuff too, but I dont think crayons will work good. Can I ask Santa for some paints and better paper? What are those painting painted on? "

Tristina rambled and rambled happily asking as many questions to anyone at the table who would entertain her. She didn't even mind her mothers new "friend", though to be honest she was more interested in talking about art and her child'ish dreams of wanting to be the best artist in the world.

During dinner Oliver was giving suspicious looks at 'Bob' and didn't say much to add to the conversation. On the other hand Elizabeth, was almost absent she seemed oddly distracted and unappetizing playing with her food more than the ordinary while Robert and Sharon shared their own part of the story about the Gallery visit.

Sadly for Tristana this evening wasn't scolding free. For trashing her dress 'mom' convicted her to wash the dishes after dinner and go to bed without desert. <Don't you dare to say anything about it young Lady. I'm not raising animals to be just throwing themselves in the dirt in any place they choose.> she had said during the bath session and after.

The dinner otherwise was exciting and after enjoying very much Tristana's adverture Robert finally said.
"You know Sharon, I know a friend in the MET. If you want I could get her in their Summer Art Classes for Tristana. I've heard they're amazing."

Tristina ignored her  siblings for the most part oh, she knew that they did not share her enthusiasm and probably thought that her stories were boring. But at least they weren't picking on her for wanting to be an artist.

She knew her brother would comment that "Art had no real purpose in life, Art never saved anyone's life.. Not like firefighters do."

And her sister would chime in about "how there was no money to be made at being a artist. And statistically most artist die poor and their works are only famous after their death.'' She was more of a realist and often talked about prospects of going to law school.

Tristina was happy that such a conversation did not happen at the table tonight, maybe it was because of her mother's new friend that her two  siblings minded Their Manners.

Tristina became filled with excitmen at the prospects of going to a art class.
She  almost immediately started begging her mom. Her mother only softly replyed that she would think about it, for even at Tristina's young age she didnt know if this was something her child was seriously wanting or  just a child'ish whim.  But She always wanted to stear her children twards their passions. So she said that she would discuss things over dessert and coffee.

Tristina was annoyed that she didn't get any  dessert , but she knew that her mother was right. She quietly collected the dishes with out making too much of a fus. As she started to run the water and to clear the plates she tried to do a "extra special job" in hops that her mother would say Yes to art school.

On the days that followed, Tristina was on her best behavior. She seemed to want this more than anything and even offered to do more chorse around the house, much to the Delight of both her siblings, who were already becoming preoccupied with their adult teen lives.

The Children's Museum of the Arts Summer Art Colony was a summer program sponsored by the Metropolitan Arts Museum of New York City conducted mostly in Central Park and other public spaces of the City. Six weeks of pure inspiration that started every week day morning at 10:00AM, dropping the kids at the MET to explore their creative side all day long until 4:00PM when it was time to go back home.

From custom making to free sketching and wet painting mixed with guided visits in the best museums of New York City. Each Friday a real artist would share his or her experiences with the group, playing along in a dynamic in a different location each time. It was costly, very very expensive but Robert offered to pay for it just to see the little artist happy.

Days later Tristana found out that Robert and Sharon had been dating for more than six month and they were even thinking on moving in together. Something that Oliver and Beth didn't found funny at all, still there was something strange in their behavior: they were more quiet, more absent than usual; mom was starting to worry about them.

▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ A WEEK LATER ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
The first day of school at the MET was one of the most exciting days in Tristana's life. She was all dressed with a jean overall and had a backpack full with the materials and stuff like a bottle with water that each student should bring. At the lobby were four kids already: three girls and one kid, each dressed with some quality clothes that Tristana had only seen while walking down Manhattan's 5th still for a child, specially Trist, this didn't matter at all even more the children reacted favorably the girls welcoming her at once.

The boy was extremely alluring, the girls were orbiting him like some kind of god. He was funny, entertaining and very very hansom. His name was Flick, short for Frederick apparently, had blue mesmerizing eyes and a dark brown hair that seem otherworldly and surreal, changing shades and flicking colors slightly.

As the days passed Tristina started to become found of Robert. She always greeted him warmly when she saw him and she liked how happy her mom was around him. Plus Robert supported her love for Art, and gave her all the encouragement a little up and coming artists could ever wish for. The refrigerator at home started to line a lot of Tristina's work. She even painted painting for Robert, and surprised him with it as a gift.

Home life started to become quiet. Tristina was saddened that her brother and sister were growing distant. But she figured that they were just becoming grownups and didn't have time to play with her. Though honestly as time passed Tristina started not to care too much. Her mom was happy and it seemed to be because of Robert.

Tristina didnt have many friends, not around her street anyway. Even if she did have children her own age around her she felt she was far beyond childish games and play dates. While other childred wanted to play house, all she wanted to do was paont. She was free to create vast worlds only she could visit in her mind, and bring them to life on paper so that others could visit those places too .

The 1st day of class opened Tristina to wonders she never knew. She met other artist and tried to make fast friends with them. She even did her best to befriend and try to mpress Fredrick. Life was good and every night she would come come to Robert and her Mon and tell them all about her day and the things she had learned.

For Tristina the best part of her day was going to art class. She was quick to make friends with the other artist in her class and would often give insightful critique their work. Tristina was quickly becoming "teacher's favoret" and would often help others with projects in clasd. Tristina seemed to grasp artistic concepts with ease. And she loved to impress others and show off her work. She wasn't always the best at every project in class though, but when something she was working on didn't seem quite right she didn't beat herself up over it. She just said to herself that she still had much to learn and would attempt to start over and try again.

Hot summer of 69 (Flashback) Empty Re: Hot summer of 69 (Flashback)

Post  Malakiel Thu Sep 05, 2019 11:19 pm

All the children shared and play together in the days of summer camp. It was amazing to create sculptures one day and paint the other. To make their own customs to act in their own play with one of the broadway's finest. Each time however, Frederick did the best job, the best painting, the best everything...

It was amazing how every piece of art he made seemed almost alive, full with color and glamour that not even Robert could have created such marvels. Madison and Lucy were his most dedicated fans but he had only eyes for Tristana, always congratulating her, encouraging her to give more and more of her but her paintings were never as good as Frederick's, he was simply in another level.

His words were so compelling that made Tristana reach out and break the barrier between them. He dreamed every night of wonderful creations, she wanted to be the greatest artist and in her dreams she was. Awards and Exhibitions all over the Metropolitan, with Frederick clapping by her side, and Robert and Sharon, all proud of her work and success.

Each day Frederick brought a gift for Tristana, once was a flower others a folded paper animal. Simple things but always managed to inspired Tristana, more and more, until one day she woke up feeling it was going to be the greatest day of her life.

It was a sunny hot day of summer, the sun was bright in the sky and yet the weather was just perfect. She was so happy, her dreams had been pleasant and rewarding, giving her a boost of joy and happiness like no other day. She got early that morning, it was painting day where she could finally show everything she was capable of.

The colors on her palette were bright and each flowing with ideas and images of the painting she was going to make. Without paying attention to anyone, including Frederick, she went straight to the canvas and started to throw darts of paint and let her inspiration run wild. She was one with her muse, as Robert would call her, her energy was unstoppable and like a maniac she was making fast traces of acrylic paint over the canvas that rapidly dry allowing her to continue her creation.

She did not eat, or drink, or rested and despite that all the teachers and caretakers of the summer camp barely noticed Tristana at all during that day, almost like she was never there at all. At last, her creation was finished, Tristana's souring hands hurt, one of her fingers bleeding, her eyes dry and irritated barely held enough energy to cry as she beheld what was in front of her: a landscape o clouds over the sea with a rainbow crossing the back layer and kids playing in the surrealistic beach of pristine water with white foam from the waves crushing on the shallow rocks at the right side.

She fell on her knees the painting was alive, no one could have done a better piece, not even Frederick or Robert, it was perfection over cloth. She started to cry of joy and tried to laught at the same time as the emotions flowed through her. That was when she noticed a shadow approaching from behind the painting, also that it was dark, night dark and she was no longer in the Metropolitan Museum. The Shadow was Flick, at least he was with her, everything was alright.

Hot summer of 69 (Flashback) Empty Re: Hot summer of 69 (Flashback)

Post  Jessica Thorne Fri Sep 06, 2019 4:56 am

Tristina's days at the camp were the best she had ever had. She lived for each and every class, and it was hard to get her to talk about anything else.
As Tristina's and Flick's friendship grew, he became one of the few things she talked about beside art.

Even as Flick seemed to do the best job, Tristina never seemed jealous. His achievements only pushed her to study and try harder.  Still Flick seemed to be a natural, and Tristina always showered him with praise.
▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … Flick your work is simply amazing! You have to teach me how you do it!."

The two really did become fast friends, the best of friends. Flick always pushed Tristina to grow better and better with her works, to never give up or get discouraged. And each time she gave it her all. It was as if as long as she had Flick by her side cheering her on, she would not let failure find her soul.
She never felt sad around him, and looked forward to seeing him each and every day. She could not imagine him not being in her life.

With each gift that Flick gave her she cherished, Tristina brought them home and use them as inspiration for many of her personal works in her SketchBook. She collected and kept everyone that he gave her, putting them in a special memory shoebox under her bed.

In her dreams the world lay at her feet, she was famous for her works, earning the admiration and praise from her peers, but most of all Flick. Strangely enough in her dreams her sibling's faded from sight. They were a source of discouragement and had no place in her life. In her dreams she was everything she wanted to be, all the people who encouraged her to become the best she could be were there with her.

That particular summer day was one that Tristina would never forget.
She had the most restful sleep she could recal, her mother made her chocolate chip pancakes, she didn't hear so much as a peep out of ether of her older siblings and she was going to be taking her favorite class today. Painting! And best of all she was going to see Flick, and give him a special gift she created for him. A set of colorful beaded friendship bracelets she created with paint, nailpolsh and odds and ends from her mother's sewing kit.. One for each of them.  The day was indeed going to be perfect.

Inspiration and creation flowed from Tristina as she became engulfed in a world wind of colors. The colors of the Rainbows had no comparison to the spectrum of colors she created with the paints. Colors that didn't even seem physically possible with the class room paints she was using. Her soul sang as her brush collided with the canvas. Nothing could tear her away from her work … Not hunger, not pain , not even a single person...NOTHING! Tristina was creating her masterwork, her magnum opus, for she was truly one with her muse on this day.

Tristina's fingers bled, but she didn't eve notice  until she had compleated her work and fell to her knees in a heep. Only then did she notice the large chips in her nails and the blisters on the tips of her fingers. She was covered from head to toe in an assortment of pigments and even a few drops of her own blood. She was utterly exhausted, in pain and starving. But she was filled with utter joy.

She had achieved her goal, this was her finest work yet. She picked herself up on wobbling legs, bracing herself on the wooden Art stool she never bothered to use.

Tristina took a few long and shallow deep breaths, but found it hard to pull her gaze away from her new creation.
But she wanted to show it off to everyone, especially Flick.

Surprisingly she turns to find him behind her. Joy fills her eyes at seeing him.

▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
"....FLICK YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS! "
She shouted in excitement, she grasped his hand and pulled him closer. she was over taken by emotion and cryed tears of joy.

  ▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … Flick isn't it amazing? !.... Its the best I have ever done. I dont think I could have done this without you urging me on to get better. Look.. Just look! I'm so happy!

Tristina wrapped her arms around Flick joyfully and kissed him on the cheek Only remembering she had something in her pocket for him. She reached into her front overall pocket and pulled forth the friendship bracelets she had made, snapping one around her painted wrist.
She places the other one in flicks hand.
.▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … Flick Its a friendship bracelet…  i made them myself. I figured you are always giving me gifts, its only right I give you something too.
I mean.. Summer is going to be over soon and I want you to remember me when you go back to school. You know.. Maybe till next summer and we can meet up again. I'm sure after seeing this my mommy and Robert are going to want to send me back! .. ."

Tristina paused in thought.
"....humm I dont know what school you go too. Maybe we go to the same school..and I just never noticed…. But maybe not. but you are coming back to art camp next summer right? I bet my work is only going to get better and better! Everyone is going to know my name! Hee-Hee Tristina the greatest! The girl with the golden paintbrush and one with her muse. "
She said with pride, though she really didn't know what a muse was, it was just something Robert always said to her. But it made her feel special None the less.

▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" …Come on Flick I want to show Teacher how amazing it is, I bet Madison and Lucy are going to be so jealous -hee-hee."

It was only then that She turns and felt a bolt of confusion hit her..
▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … Flick where is everyone? Why is it dark outside?
What time is it?... Wait.. Flick this isn't teacher's class… Where are we?

Little Tristina was so confused, but she felt calm and safe because Flick was there with her.

When Tristana hugged Flick he felt different, distant, unreciprocus to Tristana's love. He walked around the easel to look the painting at front and looked at it with an analytic eye. Meanwhile he took gently the bracelets Tristana had made for him with one hand while taking the other to his mouth and bite off an small piece of flesh to make her finger bleed. Following he stained one bracelet with his blood and gave it to Tristana.

It was to say the least confusing but Tristana received the bracelet and felt a rush of energy the second the band was around her wrist. Transforming the view of everything around her, piercing the veil in front of her eyes to reveal the grandiosity of her own work. THE PAINTING WAS ALIVE!!

She could see from her fatigued heart that putting everything she had on that paint had finally surpass any and all painting in the Metropolitan, no artist in the world could have made the painting of the waves flow and the children laugh, the clouds in the sky sail the wind. It was the most magnificent piece of art ever made. She could smell the salt in the air and feel the warm breeze from the sea just by standing in front of it.

Then she turned with tears in his tired eyes to Flick and discover a monster instead.

Hot summer of 69 (Flashback) 6a00e54fcf73858834019affbb4325970d-pi

He was not human, but a fox in human shape.

Tristana's eyes could not believe what she was seeing but yet the image was real, she could not shake it off. However, the more unsettling thing was the evil fox face behind the human mask. It looked at Tristana like food, not sensitive or empathetic at all, those black pool instead of eyes were very intimidating.

He said to her with sibylline voice.
"This gift matches your bracelet of friendship Tristana... at least now you will know." Tossing her own bracelet in the floor like it had lost it's value.

The he turned back to the painting and said.
"Magnificent piece of crap! Thank you Tristana, you have served well." and he went to touch the canvas. Placing his paw over the dry acrylic and closing his eyes for a second.

As Tristina Hughes her best friend Flick, she feels awkward. Something was wrong, but she didn't know what it was.
▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … Flick what's wrong?.. Are you not happy with me?.."

Tristina was confused, especially when Flick bit his finger and  coated the bracelet with his blood. She didn't recoil but became very concerned about her friend. She did not resist him putting the bracelet on her, though she still was very confused about the blood thing. But this was her best friend, she trusted him.

As soon as the brackets touched her flesh and the rush of energy surged through  her she gasped. Tristina felt a feeling of vertigo for a moment and reached out to Flick to help steady her so she would not collapse to her knees.
▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … Flick WHAT was that??."

The room seemed to spin slightly and a strange feeling over took the child. It was like someone removed a hood from over her eyes, the world around her was new and crystal clear. It was like a fog was lifted from her mind.

As she looked around. She took some breaths in rapped secession as her heart leaped inside her. She at 1st stated slack jaw at the painting she had created.

The smell of ocean spray, the caw of birds and the sounds of children at play near the sea…. it was breathtaking, her painting was alive, truly alive. It was like looking through a window into a world that she had created. She Stepped closers and could feel the ocean mist hit her hands. It seemed impossible, but it was REAL, She didn't know how, but it was real. .

▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … oh my god flick ! Are you seeing this? Its magnificent! Isn't it. Its like a magic window… How can this be?... its like a dream..but its real ?."

Tristina turned to her friend only to almost recoil in astonishment at the visage of her beloved friend no longer stood beside her. It was replaced by something she almost could not comprehend.

Tristina gasps, taking a few steps back and nearly colliding with the painting
She felt fear creep onto her mind, yet she was too fatigued to run. She said they're slack-jawed staring at what was once her friend now replaced by some sort of strange fox being that seemed to hide malice intent.

▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … WHA ??? you .. You'ur a Monster!?... .  no..Flick
What are you?"

Her mind raced, what was this strange thing she was looking at. It looked like it wanted to eat her. A creeping ferling of dread started to over take her. But she was long past the point to run. A she could do was stepped to the side, putting a little distance between herself and it. Tristina would have thought that this all was a dream at this point, but she was far too hurt to have believed that. This was real.. And this fox being looked scary to the small child.

She watched him cast aside the friendship bracelet and was confused by his words.

▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" … what do you mean? flick…  Am I dreaming? '
Though Tristina knew she wasn't, she was in too much pain and suffering from exhaustion to believe that this was a dream.

Though. When this creature called her Masterpiece " a piece of crap" a bolt of anger grew up in her. THIS was her most magnificent creation to date,  it was better than anything anyone has ever seen. She truly was able to bring the painting to life and she was hurt by his words. He had never once said one unencouraging Thing to her. So his words stung.

▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
".... its not crap!"
Tristina said,  obviously hurt by his statement. And what did he mean she served him well?

Tristina watched this strange creature that used to be her best friend touch her master work.
▂▂▂▂▂▂ Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂▂
" its NOT Crap… !
She insisted, "...its beautiful… Its magical … I gave my all to create this, just like you said. . who else could have painted a painting in such a way as I have?
I dont know what you are, but THIS is NOT crap."

Hot summer of 69 (Flashback) Empty Re: Hot summer of 69 (Flashback)

Suddenly a burst of energy from Flick made the painting crack into several pieces, releasing the energy within as an explosion. A blast of red and orange vapors started to dissolve in the blink of an eye all the oils over the canvas, melting the images and mixing them with salt smell, confusing 'em with the chuckles of the children playing into an immense volatile mass that raised over the canvas and flowing into the fox like creature.

The energy surge made his skin almost transparent with a redish glow from inside that looked like an X-ray representation as he contorted in ecstasys and laugh maniacally clenching his hands in a claw like posture as the painting disintegrated, leaving just a blank broken canvas tainted with gray and black ashes.

For Tristana the experience was both physically painful and emotionally destructive. She felt like her dreams were destroyed along the painting, like the fox was draining a part of her soul as he drank the energy surge from the painting. She ended gray and decayed laying on the floor with tears down her cheeks absolutely traumatized.

Utter horror flows threw her, she screams in agony as if a part of her soul just died at the hands of a monster who used to wear the face of her best friend.

▂▂▂▂▂Tristina▂▂▂▂▂
"....YOU'RE A MONSTER!!!! STOP IT!!!! NOOOOOO MY WORK YOU'RE KILLING IT! YOU'RE KILLING IT! "

She cries out, salty tears starting to well up in her dry eyes, they burn her cheeks as she screams and screams to the point of nealy losing her voice.
▂▂▂▂▂Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂
".... NOOOOOOOO WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!!"????"

Tristina wanted to shove this creature out of the way, it was killing her work... It was killing her. But she no longer had the strength.

Tristina collapsed to her knees sobbing uncontrollably, scraping her bloody and painted hands at the ground to pick up the ashes of the life that she had created.

▂▂▂▂▂Tristina ▂▂▂▂▂
".... NO ... WHY!? WHAT HAVE I EVER DONE TO YOU... I HATE YOU....!!!!"????"

I'm

Tristina devastated and traumatized, she clings to the ashes of her painting, the part of her soul that she just watched get destroyed by a monster that used to be her best friend. She sobs uncontrollably in the fetal position almost chanting over and over again … "I just want to wake up... I just want to wake up!""

While Tristana was lying on the floor many things happened around her. Finally the police department managed to found her broken hearted and dreamless in the floor trying to recreate from the ashes a beautiful dream.

They took her home, Sharon was a river of tears flowing in angs for her lost child and felt like her soul came back when Tristana was returned to her. The child went straight to the hospital where they couldn't find any damage whatsoever. How do you diagnose a broken heart after all...

Tristana was unresponsive to any treatment, depressed and void inside beyond recognition and yet none of her explanations were convincing beyond drugs undetectable by science and hallucinations. One thing was clear Flick was guilty in Tristana's story and they looked for a record of that infant but seems that the boy that shared time within the summer camp wasn't who he claimed to be, an stranger who stole the identity of another with a face that no one could find.

Another missing person was Robert, who recommended Tristana to this summer camp. The police didn't consider him a suspect but after a few days Sharon reported him as a missing person to discover that he was also using a false identity, was he an accomplice of the monster that hurt her child, she seem to believe so and Tristana felt again a heavy heart caused by Robert's treason against her, just a little girl who wanted to dream.

As the days passed, Tristina's condition didn't seem to get any better . Her mother went from Doctor to doctor, to specialist to specialist trying anything to help her . But she was too young for most  anti-depression medications even some of the experimental ones .

Tristina's grades dropped and she was unresponsive to most things  in school . she stopped caring about making friends, how could she know weather or not if they were really monsters under the skin such as the case with Flick.

Everyone was very concerned there was no reason for a child so young to have such a lackluster approach to life. Anything that truly bought Tristina happiness had faded. There was times where she just stopped eating and even in school she lost interest in most things. She became distant and very introverted, it was breaking her mother's heart. It was bad enough that Robert had vanished but mistaken for child was almost too much to bear. Her mother secretly turned to the comfort of the bottle. she didn't understand how a man nice as Robert set apart of all of us and she has no idea how to help a child continue to seek out professional help and hopes that Tristina eventually will get better. She had to believe that.

Tristina grew tired of telling her  experience to people over and over again. She knew that they wouldn't believe her how could they they simply told her mother that it was a phase yeah, some sort of trauma that she would forget and grow out of after all children films that relatively fast Sally for Tristina this was not the case, at least any time soon.

Time passed still, she went  from Doctor to doctor and each time see me to shut down just a little bit more or she got to the point where she would just tell them what she thought they wanted to hear. she knew the truth And  she started not to care whether people listen to her or not.

She hated them. She blamed everything on Flick and Robert.
In a fit of anger she trashed her room and memory box that held the little gifts that Flick left her. She truly hated him, he was a monster, and as she looked down at her wreacked room and trinket  box she swore to herself that she would never let herself get hurt again by another monster.

Tristina , lost all her hopes and dreems… There was a large empty spot with in her soul she didnt know how to fill… She tryed to create art, but nothing was right. Her passion was gone, and so was her connection to her muse. Eventually she stopped wanting to create art and took to simply admiring it,  longing for something to be stirred within her that would bring her back from the dep's of her crushed soul

As time passed by Tristana started to pretend less and less each day as she was beginning to forget about Flick, about Robert and eventually about everything. Like Myst oblivion started to flow into her memories dissolving everything that happened to her, she could not harness the reason behind her anger, her depression...

Anyway she had a lot to worry about in her life, like the drug addiction of her sybilings and Sharon's bipolarity and chronic depression. There were good times and bad times but things in general were decaying over the years until her family split, her brother moved out as soon as he could and her sister got pregnant by 14 years old and is living with the truck driver that knock'ed her up.

For a while were just her and Sharon. Life wasn't easy but they survived, at least enough for Tristana to go to art school, college to get her diploma and some financial stability with it.
