Final Showdown! (Star)

The coterie starts its way into the Chess Master's office, even entering through that door now seemed strange due to the circumstances around them. Sir Titus was the first to enter the room, in the middle was a sandbag's circle around a MK19 grenade laucher in its center, Guarded by two ghouls.

Spoiler:

The windows of the lobby to the office were blocked by thick steel plates that were lifted manually judging by the tools around it's system, to guard the place. Other two groups of ghouls on opposite corners of the back. Between these two was the door leading to Valentine's office, which was closed.

Titus gave the word and everyone stood down as the group of kindreds went to the next room. There was a Lord Valentine. He had a strange armor on, medival in its shape and style but made out of plastic, he also had a saber on his belt and a helmet with the face mask open that had a big blue feather on the top of it. The entire look of the Ventrue was amazing, manly and impressive alike.

The windows in this place were also blocked by steel plates. The room was crowded, at least ten ghouls were there well armed and ready to die for their master, among them Star recognized the one she fed from at the kitchen the other night. Among them Valentine had two communication officers, each radio was shouting updates on the situation and on Valentine's command certain orders were given when necesary.

When the Count got in the room many looked up to him as a sign of victory to come, even without an arm. Hayworth kneeled and said.
"My Lord the situation inside the premise seems under control."

Allison and Titus kneeled as well but said nothing.

Valentine took a minute to rapidly update the coterie about the situation without time to pass through protocol and other usually manners of him. All comunications were lost, they have been trying to restart the telephones or at least use celular phones to call out but they seemed to have been blocked as well. Around the Chess Club the security team was surprised by the assaulting forces, driven in by two trucks with our own ghouls.

The remaining forces are all in the premise or over it, trying to hold the hostile forces as far as possible but the werewolves come to destroy one by one the AWV around the Chess Club, so far they've lost three. Then he says.
"Now that you're all here it's time for us to counter attack against the werewolf."

He turns to one of the communication officers and says.
"Bring AV-10 in front here."

The ghoul rushes to repeat the commander's order and Valentine ask another of his men to let the steel plate to drop down. He was going out.

Star looked upon Lord Valentine in all his splender, to Star he looked very sexy and stunning. Star seemed relived to look upon Lord Valentine, she felt that their chances of victory were closer than before, between The Count and Lord Valentine there was no way the Chess Club could fall.
Though she still had a lingering fear about the radiation damage to the compound and the Thralls it all still might hold.

Star took a knee along with the Count , Allison and Titus, and remains silent

Star took note of the surondings and the Thralls on staff geared up for war. She seemed surprised to see the Mortal she feed from before in the mix. Star had to turn her eyes from him as she felt the beast start to lust after his blood. She was getting quite hungry and would have to be very careful soon.

She turned her eyes from him and thought that she would have to find a alternative food source in the fray, not wanting to injure the Thrall from the Kitchen or make him too weak to fight. Star started to wonder if she could feed from the enemy units or even a werewolf if she was lucky enough.

She thought, though the thought of sinking her fangs into those disgusting monstrosities repulsed her, but she has put worse things in her mouth before.

Star was not afraid of what was to come, she felt honored to stand and fight with those among her clan, weather or not she had been proven a official member of the Kings or not. She didn't care, she felt this was her duty to protect the Chess Club and all who dwelled her Among the Chess Master's favor. and defend it she will, with all that she was. She only hoped that the Knights of the Chess Club would teach the Sabbat that you don't fuck with the Kings!

And she might share in their glory, and get some payback from that bastard who put her in the morgue. There was much more blood she wanted to bath LJ in, and his was one of them. She would be ready this time, and she wouldn't be alone.

Star remained silent and waited for further instructions

Valentine waited in front of the window as the ghoul's prepared for war along their beloved kindred. Count Hayworth was at his side waiting for the steel plate to go down, finding the rear of the AV-10 blocking all incoming fire at this part of the Chess Club. The higher ground was taken by the allied forces on the roof of the Chess Club.

However, many of the roof guard post were already ravaged, also at least two of the three tanks destroyed were around with their chimenies of smoke on the air. As minimum the national guard or even the army should be aware of this situation judging by the amount of noise this fight was causing.

Lord Valentine climbed easily over the tank and the Count ordered the rest of spread out leaving only the kindred behind the tank waiting to attack. The ghouls inside brought their gear with them, setting the two MK19 on each side of the window in no time. The tank kept moving on front with Lord Valentine on top of it.

Star was ready,
As Star started to take in the situation and the dispisition of those around her. She, she couldn't help but start to wonder where the cops were. Certainly with this much noise someone somewhere had to have called them. This area of high society was starting to resemble a damn war zone.
Where was the channel 12 news 'copters? The News Repoters? The poilce ? The FBI? The fu*king Neighborhood Watch? Why has no one came yet??

All these thoughts raced through Stars mind, and maybe most importantly was "Who could have so many connections with Law Enforcement & the media in the city to keep help from being deployed??'' ONLY the Camarilla could do that!

<That this whole was seeming bogus! The Sabbat was attacking with too much force for just your average raid. AND They had fu*king WEREWOLVES in their ranks! They were well organized, had heavy aillery at their despisal. That sh!t ain't cheep! AND are holding back any mortal reinforcements!
This is bull sh!t. The Sabbat are working with the Cam'y Kindred! This was plans! They infiltrated the Chess Club to take out Lord Valentine and his Knights! And there is only one Clan I can think of that might have the motive, the money and connections to make this possible.... THE VENTRUE! >

These thoughts made Star's blood boil, the evidence was hard to deny, at least from her perspective. And she was positive others were thinking this too.

Still if they survived the night, no doubt someone would pay for this.

Star made ready her M16, checking and reloading as needed. She thought of Her Father, and of Lawless and all the others who were struck down or injured in this battle. She looked to Count Hay word and found courage in him. The Count seemed fearless and continued to lead them even with just one arm. He was truly a great warrior and a inspiration. Star wanted to also show such dedication and bravery in the face of the horrors of war that are yet to come this evening.
Lord Valentine would lead them to victory, and she felt proud to be apart of this struggle.

Her blade LJ would taste blood again, and she would give this battle her all until she could no longer remain standing. Tonight she fights for those she loves, those she cares about, those who can not fight and for those who can. Tonight she fights for something greater than herself, tonight the Knights of Kings will fight and Win... This she was sure of.

Suddenly the night got silenced, no shooting, not even an animal sound was yet to be heard...

A few seconds elapse with the unsettling silence until a hive of animals, flying animals emerged like a cloud from the trees ahead. Mostly insects and bats came down like a locus on the Ventrue holding their ground.

It was Gabriel who jumped on the tank and started to screech like a maniac imitating the bats in their flight. He lifted his hands and one huge black grasshopper landed on it. The closed his fist squeezing the insect and taking it to his mouth to a bite from it.

Suddenly all bats in the air already coming at them turned against the insects, predating on them with a savage behavior, unnatural and agitated. The scene was disgusting as pieces of insects started to rain on the Chess Club.

Star starts to get a uneasy feeling at noticing the "silence". it reminds her of the night of the Gangrel's Gate incident right before all sh!t hit the fan.

Star was on guard, her eyes go wide at the sight and sounds of the bats and insects as they break the silent tension. She hadn't seen so many in one place before and readied herself for the approaching impact of the beasts.

To her surprise the Gangrel was able to turn them on each other. "A remarkable gift indeed" Star thought. Though the eating of the bug she found quite repulsive. Even still was the aftermath of the Gangrels efforts as the chunks of buggy gore rained down on the Ventrue.

Star didn't even flinch...
The only though in star's head as she stood in the gore rain was..

After a few minutes of confusion the hive of bats was dismissed by the Gangrel with a growl. The enemies were starting to show at the distance, many of the fomori were still standing waiting on the forest ahead.

Valentine yelled.
"Fire at will!" pointing ahead with his sword as he withdraw it from it's sheath.

Inmediately all the ghouls started to shoot at the forest line with their MK19.

Many explosion shinned the distant forest with echoing destruction of their target's demise. The enemy troops scattered trying to hide but the saturation fire was obliterating the enemy lines.

From nowhere a howl filled the air, it was loud enough for everyone to start looking around, overcomming even the explosions' noise and the ghouls yells around. The sky started to cover in clouds, rapidly thunders and lightning started to fill the air with an electrical sensation that made uneasy all the Ventrue in place.

Allison was at the back of the AV-10 waiting along with Titus and Star, she seemed very anxious as she was playing with her new katana, sheating it, in and out, repeatedly.

The situation was heated, explosions, bursts of gunfire, and the sound of screaming filled the nights air. This was insanity, it was indeed war. But not the type of war that star ever expected to fight. She was prepared by the Sword for Guerrilla tactics, Hit and Runs, gang banger warfair ... not this! This was a ridiculous assault . She had never seen so many (of what she believed were) Tzimicse War ghouls. These things were tough as nails to take down, she could only imagine what a werewolf would be like to fight.

She was both excited and nervous about that. Her last encounter with Enigma ended up her in the morgue, and looking back on what happened to her father tonight he barely walked away from the encounter with one of those creatures. Still it wasn't enough to deter her from her Duty. She felt that on this battlefield she had higher purpose and she wasn't facing the enemy alone.

Star was not only fighting to protect the chess club and the Ventrue she now belinged too, but now faced her old Faction in combat. That Faction that took everything away from her. But She now fought for the side that was willing to help her take her existence back and being a part of something greater than herself . She was prepared tonight to die for that cause.

Little John's words rung out in her mine. She looked upon the battlefield and the chaos that ensued.
" Live every night like its your last!, Never fear death, only fear inaction! For every battle we win is one step closer to winning the war for us all!"
Her old packmate's words may have been directed in the favor of serving the Sword of Caine, but they were still relevant in Star's mind.

Indeed whether she lived or died in this battle, as long as she fought with honor and fought for a greater cause, then those that came after her would benefit from it her sacrifices.

Even Lady Victoria's words came to stars mind..
"" back then, elite warriors believed to be part of something greater, to be building a better future, we call those Knights."

"Knights have a duty toward the higher calling, toward their clan and toward honour and they fight when their duty calls, they are willing to reach final death if that's what it takes to succeed in their task. That means not even survival stands between a Knight and his Duty, not when it's called to fight, not even when its demanded of him to stand down and wait."

And in her mind this is what she believed it meant to be a King and a Knight, and she was going to live up to her calling, even if she was to face her end.

Star looked upon Lord Valentine and felt that he would indeed lead the Knights to victory tonight, even if the Chess Club was to fall, it was only a building and buildings can be replaced. What the Kings Knights represented could never be torn down or destroyed, not by these forces, not by the Sabbat, not by the Underhanded schemes of the Snobs, not by anyone! Star truly believe this in her heart.

Star steps toward and gives Allison a eager smile, as the thunder and lightning start to congregate over the battlefield. She grew anxious as well, feeling this was truly unnatural.

Star chuckled with anticipation.
She readied her weapon for the first enemies to get in her sights. Tonight she felt like a Knight and Tonight the Knights would Prevail Victorious!

Again like a magic trick rain started to fall over the Chess Club, it became a water curtain in no time, making impossible to see beyond a few meters ahead. Even lightning crossing the sky only enhanced the shadows and strange shapes of the night.

In a few seconds the MK19 banging noise stopped by Lord Valentine's command as they could see nothing at all in front of them. Even the powerful lights from the vehicles could not pierce the heavy downpour of the skies.

Another second later an electrical sensation filled the air, Star at the back of the truck felt for a split of a second how the static started to make her teeth feel funny and the hair in her body charge up, even a glymps of blue lights came just before a lightning cracked the sky open falling instantly over Lord Valentine.

The expansive shockwave was great, along with heat and noise stunning everyone around the vehicle, resulting in the Count and Gabriel to be thrown out by the blast alone. Leaving a cloud of smoke and heavy rain entwining to mask whether the Chess Master was still there or not.

Star tences up as the rain started to get heavy, it was getting near impossible to see anything. Star gathered closer to the Ventrue for safety. There was something truly unnatural about the storm, it was like the old Gods of the Sky became angry and we're turning against them.

"This had to be some form of magic" she thought, but she had no idea how anybody could harness the power of nature itself in such a way to use it against them...
Then like a flash... Her worst fear became true.

Lightning has struck Lord Valentine with all the rage of the Greek god Zeus himself. The kindred were blown back from the shock wave and Star's heart nearly leaped into her throat as her eyes widened at what she had just witness!

"NO! "
She words were dry and breathless as she could not take her eyes off of the area where the lightning blast hit Valentine. She could tell if he was still standing or not. Surely she anticipated the worst, thinking that not many could even survive such a hit.
The power of lightning was definitely a force to be reckoned with and any living creature would have been dead. She had no idea what its effect on an undead body would be. But in her mind it could not be good. And in that split-second her mind raced thinking that If Lord Valentine fell would the knights still be able to push forward and claim victory against the surmountable odds after losing their Leader.

She thought, we all fight for something greater than each of ourselves and we will carry his name on Word if Lord Valentine could not.

Star rushed to get a closer look to see if Lord Valentine was indeed alright or not. She braved the fray to check on the wellbeing of the Chess Master

Star walks forward and looks at Valentine standing up his armor was smoking and he had several electrical black marks on his face and hands. Still he withdraw his sword and pointing it at the sky he defies the heaves to strike him again.

A second later another lightning strikes but not on Valentine but about twelve yards in front of everyone, just in the middle of the field separating the woods from the Chess Club building near the giant chess board. Seconds later a second lightning strikes on the same place and finally a third lightning strikes exactly where the first two landed in the first place. This rapid fashion of lightning strikes didn't hit anyone and cause no damage whatsoever...

When suddenly an earthquake began, it was mild but steady and increasing in potence by the second, everyone was starting to look nervous. Gabriel and the Count came back to the vehicle to stand one on each side of it.

Upon seeing that Lord Valentine had survived the lightning strike a look of relief crossed Star's face.
Not even the forces of nature could bring down the Ventrue Chess Master and deny them their victory.

Star focused her Gaze on the repetitive lightning strikes that we're hitting the area around the chessboard. Clearly these strikes were not normal, they were guided by some unseen magic. The Earth itself seem to quake and try to intimidate them.

Still this would not deter the knights from standing their ground. The building and everything around them could crumble around them, but they will still stand and fight.

Star prepared for the worst yet to come

The earthquake reached its pick, making many of the ghoul present to fall down and pieces of the Chess Club's walls and roof to fall down to the ground as well.

Suddenly a huge creature of about 25 ft long and 9 ft wide, emerged from the place where the lightning striked over and over and over again a few minutes ago. This worm like creature with sparks crackling over it's thick hide emerged from the ground burrowing its way out screeching and sizzling as it show it's spiral dented maw to everyone on front.

Star held her ground, stairing at the monster that just emerged from out of the ground.

Star said as she took a defensive stance and look towards Lord Valentine as what they should do next.

Valentine yells. "FIREEEEE!"

... and everyone starts to shoot at the creature with everything! Gabriel started to shoot with his M2 with wide eye and baffed expression along with the entire chorus of weaponry.

The bullets, grenades and other types of ammunition richotes on the creature making it only angry appaerently. It stretches out and opens its mouth to guzzle the AWV in front of him, its maw also stretches letting the fangs to caress the steel of the surface oozing out some sort of acid saliva that allows the teeth to penetrate into it.

A second later the monster starts to lift the truck slowly letting it slide into its maw, dissolving the rubber of the tires, the steel from the plates and crushing the car with it's not so surprisingly titanic strength. Leaving Star, Allison and Titus suddenly without protection.

Seconds later two werewolves appear from thin air falling on the back line over the two MK19 machine guns. The werewolf were about to start their attack when Gabriel, David and Valentine quickly reacted to defend this post. One of them was Enigma the other the one that took the Count's arm and almost killed Brian with balefire, he left the battle field licking his wounds, now he was fully restored.

Star stood in disbelief as the large worm monster started to desolve the vehicle right in front of her.
Star's mind screamed "NOPE" as she tryed to comprehend what the hell she was seeing.

"Gwad Damn! New York got some pest problems! Where the Fu*k has something like THIS been hiding??
You know what I don't care, this thing just ATE A TANK!! Nothing MAKES SENCE any more! How da-fuk do ya even???? "
Star said rambling in disbelief as she noticed everyone running to help Valentine.

Star's mind raced in that split second as she was being left alone in the presence of this monster worm. In star's mind she imagines herself being swallowed whole by the monster and having to fight her way out of its belly before she was digested.

Fight the giant worm alone or go help fight the werewolves? She thought, Both options were not truly favorable especially sence the Werewolf that took out her father seemed A'-OK again.

Star looked towards the Count and Gabriel and then looked towards Lord Valentine and noticed Enigma.
Star wanted to dashed towards the Werewolf and Lord Valentine, following Titus and Allison. But strategically it would make more since to help Gabriel and the Count who now only had only one arm. Her wanting revenge for the werewolf blowing her up would have to wait, backing up her Team mates and being a team player was far more important.

Star rushed towards the Count's side to aid him and Gabriel, and kept in mind the teactices of the Green Living fire that it spuewd. if anything Star tryed to prepared herself to face the Red Fear... Or green fear as it was.

The Count and Gabriel were trying to be in opposite positions to the werewolf, avoiding all his attempts to have them cluster together to blast with balefire their souls out of their undead bodies. Gabriel was attacking the werewolf with his claws but the creature hide was too resistant, under it's fur it had grown some sort of carapace, black and shiny, also very very hard.

The Count was using his saber to attack each sensitive spot, testing them one by one, trying to find a weak spot to cause the more damage. Meanwhile, he tried to stay away from it's claws, although he was a Ventrue, very resilient by nature any attack from this monster would have been a serious threat.

The werewolf throws a flurry of swipes against the Gangrel, ignoring the Count's attempts to damage him with that little knife. Also the incoming Ventrue at his back was a fly on the wall that he would crash a second later.

After dodging each and everyone of the lupine's swipes the Gangrel finishes his transformation in a hive of bats clustering like a cloud around the werewolf, looking to bite and confuse his senses with ultrasonic screeches. Two of those went inside Valentine office to hide and secure the Gangrel's survival.

The Count rotates around the werewolf helping Star to get to the lupines back, then aiming with the tip of his saber elegantly to pick his eyes out.

Star saw the tip of the blade to bounce from the werewolf's open eye and don't even making it flinch. Finally the werewolf gave his back completely to Star.

Star did her best to keep her distance from the deadly claws of the werewolf. She was no stranger to dealing with Claws of the Hunters, the Gangrels of the Sword. Star knew that the claws from this beast would be just as bad, if not worse. Count Hayworth had already lost a arm, and she was definitely less resultant then he was, so she would have to be careful.

Star flooded her body yet again with the power of the blood, trying to add to her strength.

Star knew that she was becoming very hungry, soon she would not be able to fight back the urges from the Beast's hunger. But she would have to risk the hunger if she had any hope of surviving this creature's attacks.

Though Star thought she might be able to use her hunger to her advantage. She knows that she will need blood soon, and the only living viable thing in her sights would be this Werewolf. Star had no idea weather or not she could feed from this monster or what its blood might do to her If she could. But she figured it was worth a try, and with a breath weapon like it had, she would bet money it was a smoker.

Star took the advantage of the Gangrel's attack on the werewolf, drawing its attention away from the Count and herself. Once Star saw the opening to attack , she armed herself with LJ once again. Hoping that if she needed LJ her dagger would strike true.

Star rushed twords the werewolf's back side, not letting this opportunity slip by. She went to grapple the Wolf, leaping onto its back and wrapping her legs around its waste, and her arms around its neck.

Knowing she would be nothing more than a huge annoyance to the monster, she held on to him with all her might, and with extended fangs, sunk then into the monsters neck in hopes of feeding, and draining the strength away from the wolf. Star had no idea weather or not the Kiss would add anything to her attack, she hoped the euphoric bite would throw the creature by suprise, enabling others to attack him in his distraction . Star held on to the monster with all that she had, she was determined not to let go until she got what she so badly needed.
