Inquisition of New York

New York has an strong Catholic Influence from the times of the 13 colonies, Boston not far from The City was one of the more conservative domains during the Inquisition and New York was also under the hard scrutiny of the Inquisitors and Censors of the Catholic Church.

Currently, one third (34%) of it's population considers herself Catholic, while the rest of the Christian faiths add to about one fourth (26%), to a grand total of 60%. Hence for than half of it's population considers Jesus Christ to be the Savior of Mankind.

People not affiliated with any religious add to less than a quarter (24%) and the rest of the religions combined, including jewish and muslims add to 16%.

It is safe to say that Catholic is the prevailing belief system, an important condition in the elections therefore all it's Mayors have been Catholic since it's foundation and the whole political system is very conservative, giving few room for minorities. Judging almost as heretics the practice of the Craft and other anti-religious organizations such as satanist groups that are Purged at the first opportunity they fall in the Government's hands.

NUMINA AND TRUE FAITH

The human will is an unexplored source of power, such knowledge is common among awakened but for the sleepers, for mortals unaware of the complexity and mystery within the World of Darkness, the human will is expressed and shaped by believes. Only strong believes, tempered with the fires of tests of faith and quenched in the cold reality as miracles.

The Inquisition is broadly known for their commitment to their believes, some are zealots other simple fanatics but regardless of their focus, they're resolved and unshakable in their Faith.

Not all are religious people, despite prejudices and cliche, some are simply committed to the idea of common well and work for a better future where the world can be free of evil. Many scientists work with the inquisition, fanatics of other and tradition, also fanatics and templars of their faith.

Depending on their focus some develop abilities, although most do not. Those with abilities are privileged, special forces among the Society of Leopold, sometimes commissioned to join the missions against the supernatural, while exceptionally an Elite Troop of these exceptional beings are put together.
