Under construction (Barton)

The attack missed the heart of an inch but the brutal force and impulse made the branch go right through Barton. It was a painful experience, feeling the branch going through, piercing, leaving splinters inside his body and breaking in smaller pieces within him. He heard the sound the cracking bone and wood, feeling his insides ripped by the mechanical action of the wooden knife.

Barton’s back smacked hard against the tree and he groaned loudly as his legs buckled upon touching the ground. He sank to his knees and fell forward barely bracing himself up from the ground as his head lowered. A gurgling sound came from his lips as he weakly lifted up his head. His eyes were hazed over and his vision was blurry. He rose up from his knees slowly, falling back against the tree. As he staggered to his feet he was then struck by another powerful blow. This one was much more intense than the tree from earlier… It was a pain he had not felt on such a scale; the bark was rough on his inner skin… He grimaced as the limb found its way into his skin, his flesh parted and he took in the pointed ends of the large timber. Barton’s voice left him and he could not find the strength to scream through the sudden attack. Barton was tough but this might be the straw that broke him.

Barton went still and let out a low roar as he felt his body break. The large limb had stuck in him and he had taken it. He felt his strength and endurance fade, but still there was a fight in him. Barton was stopped and he did not move but he rose up. Barton bled from the mouth and leaked profusely from the wound. But he slid his hands down the timber as he lifted it up. Barton snarled and rolled his lower lip over his lower row of teeth and bit down… He bit down enough to draw blood and mustered up his strength as he slid his hand down to the bit of timber in front of the entrance of the wound. Barton saw nothing and he snarled loudly… His vocal chords emitted a brutal snarl and he forced himself to stand.

Barton staggered from side to side and the snarl faded into a whimper and then the snarl returned as he arched his back.. His hands tightened around the base of the timber that was impaled in him. He lifted the bulk up as he stood to his feet. He growled loudly and fell back landing against the nearest tree. He felt the pain deeply now but his rage was a bit greater than the pain and he looked up….. Barton muffled his grunts and narrowed his eyes… He hunched over as the end of the timber touched the ground… He gripped the base tighter…..

With a loud snarl of defiance he rose up and howled as he attempted to break the piece of wood, an act of intimidation and defiance. Barton struggled with his as he let his beast out… Barton staggered as he lifted the timber and attempted to break it….

Barton started to struggle with the timber inside his guts, trying to smash it with his bare hands, to crush it, to break it, but nothing happend. He felt stuck, he couldn't move out of the stake not even break the branch.

Then the harpy who had a difficult time trying to pass by the rest of the branches after droping Barton like a bomb against the pointy stakes, finally turned around gliding again. she didn't seem friendly or merciful because of Barton's position, it was more eager to destroy him now that he was stuck like a rat in a trap.
