The girl paused at the sound of the clicking noise in her ear. She knew the sound all to well, the cock of a trigger. She'd almost rolled her eyes at the insanity of this person daring to threaten her. She was after all, very, very, very hungry. Before she turned on her heels to face him her eyes had already changed using the power of her blood behind her closed lids. When she turned to look at him with the eyes of the serpent he wouldn't have even known what her true color was. Her eyes flashed him with the bright blue brilliance. Her gaze could have cowered him out of intensity alone.

"Me?"

She mouthed under her black "scarf." Almost daring him to be bold enough to speak now.

The robber's gun shooted almost inmediatly, even before Leila was able to blink. .45 Caliber right on the center of her head, a thick bullet right through her brain.

The impact was so hard that knocked Leila down to the floor instantly, the wound was a big a hole from her forehead to the back of her head, clean and straight. Leila was not unconcious, but stuned the power of the bullet made her lose the balance for a second.

Aside from the buzz sound in her ears Leila could her this: the robber yelling "Oh Shit" and starting to run away, people far away yelling. "that mother fucker killed her!" and starting to run away.

The sudden impact of the bullet in her head and her fall to the ground left her stunned. The noises of the very distant screams and complaints that she was dead rattled her. In truth she was already dead so it mattered not to her. A gun shot to the head would indeed leave a mortal dead, so she couldn't very well get up after this. It would be a blatant masquerade breach. So despite her urges to run after the son of a bitch that shot her she laid still on the ground and let herself die. The injury she'd sustained brought her even more pain.

She had to think of a way out of this, but now was not the time. With any luck she'd be taken to a morgue or medical examiner and plot to escape from there.

Sirens far away now getting closer...

People from the appartments stare morbid to the corpse on the street pretending pitty and sorrow
"So young... so beautiful..."

Police car comes close, a bunch of policemen get down from the vehicule to close the crime scene, a thin yellow tape and wooden ridges with dazzling lights above, custoding the crime scene keeping everyone out of it. Few minutes after a journalist car come to the scene and starts filming.

It's been an hour since everything started...

Leila couldn't believe how stupid she had been. Walking around the streets unarmed, without yet having her training. The cumulative events that led her here replayed in her head. She shouldn't have even been out on the streets, would she have been safer with Cailina or better yet learning like she was supposed to with Tantra?

While she laid there she contemplated all the things she should've been doing. Even through the police working through their details and then the media. She was getting ansty, ready to get this over with. She let her thoughts occupy her once more to keep her anxiety at bay over the charade around her.

'Sorayya is legally dead from this exact moment. If my father is in town he'd see that and maybe, just maybe he'd leave satisfied that she had already been killed for him. But I have to forge Leila's identity now, make her an existential being... Assuming I get out of here soon... Like before daylight soon... How much longer does this need to take. Don't worry about it Leila everything will be fine. I'll get out of this without any problems I know that, I have to...'

Her thoughts continued to wonder on about the details of the night and losing her human existence. Wondering what it all would boil down to in the coming nights.

Another police car arrived with CSI written in big yellow letter on its flank. From it a group of two women and a man went down all dressed up as Crimine Scene Investigation personel.

One of them went directly to the leading police officer to talk about the crime scene, other started to walk around within the perimeter of the yellow tape and the male came directly to Leila with a suitcase on his hand carrying a lot of gear with him.

Leila remained perfectly still while the scene continued to unfold around her. All of her senses seemed to be more focused since she wasn't moving. She heard the man trotting towards her carrying loads of things. All of her thoughts shifted to what he was going to be doing to her with all of his stuff. She braced herself for his explorations of her. There were certainly oddities to be found. Her gaping mouth, the blood on her clothes, it wouldn't be hard to figure out that her mouth was newly injured with no medical attention given. Too many oddities to hide, this was going to be an interesting examination.

The investigator got close and looked at Leila for a few seconds, put the suitcase next to him and took a digital from it, really expensive material took a few steps back and started to take two pictures of Leila one front of her the other from a different angle out of her sight, still the flash was on to tell when the picture was taken.

Came close again, this time with white "lipstick" in his hand, which he used to paint a contour around Leila, a white diagram to plot where she was. Right then one of the women came near to speak with the guy next to Leila and said.
"Any thing yet Warric?"

"Not much, the victim was shotted close ranged with a high caliber gun, most likely a revolver, by the size of the wound I'd say .45 cobra revolver, may be. If this was the CoD I'd say she died instantly."

The woman nods and says
"The police officer told me that is a witness, he looked at her from down the street, in the preliminary he said that the woman was just walking down the street and then she got shot from an unseen shooter from that alley over there..." pointing with a pen.

Warric nods and the woman continues saying.
"I'll be around asking for other witnesses preliminary, tell me whenever you're ready."

He smiles and says.
"Ok Jo, I think I'll be over in a minute call the guys of forensic to pick up the body"

Oh thank goodness there were witnesses and forensics was coming and they hadn't exposed her yet. Leila felt relieved, though then she began to wonder what forensics would exactly do after they take her. She didn't quite know what all these individual roles entailed after someone dies. But she was grateful to be getting moved.

Few minutes after two guys came carrying an stretcher with wheels, they crouch it go to Leila's shoulder's and feets, grab her by them and pull up, pretending to lift her and set her over the stretcher forcing her to bend due to her body weight. Their first try wasn't successful, they look at each other and then to Warric with an ackward look, surprised, and then back to each other again, the stood up to fully lift Leila and set her over it.

The forensic stretch up the bed on it's wheels again and when they were about to leave Warric made a sign to them to stop. Then he approaches to Leila, looks at her in her eyes, lift her flacid arm up and leave it fall again easily. Surprised he presses his ear against Leila's chest and his right hand right under her nose, after finding nothing he presses his finger against her throat and deep in her tight looking for pulse, nothing again.
"Ok, that's odd." he says.

"Carry on guys, we'll see at the autopsy"

Leila tried to let her body fall loose when the men went to grab her. Obviously she'd not been so great at it as they had to readjust to move her. The man approached and looked in her eyes.

'Oh no, aren't all the muscles supposed to be lax... I bet my pupils are still constricted. I can't do anything about that oh no.'

She stared blankly into the sky trying to keep her eyes still and the rest of her body as loose as possible. No heartbeat, no pulse, no breath, she was all good there but obviously something was off.

'Odd? Autopsy... they are planning on performing an autopsy. Which means they are going to cut me open!? I have to get out of there before that happens. Oh father Set help me out of this.'

Once on the ambulance the forensic officers tied Leila to the stretcher and fix it to the floor of the car. They close the door behind them leaving her in darkness except for a little beam of light comming from the front sit. Few seconds after the beam increased and heard the men sitting in front of the ambulance, starting the engine and preparing to leave the place

Once alone in the dark she felt momentarily safer. Contemplating her escape, she couldn't try and leave now, it was still many spectators around the scene. For just a few seconds, Leila's eyes changed to the eyes of the serpent to get a good idea of her surroundings and to see if there were any potential weapons at her disposal. When the men finally slipped inside she immediately switched them off not wanting to alarm them with the sudden light from the back seat. Her memory set to work recalling the details of the blood red and black image to help her identify what was inside.

Leila saw no weapons or sharp objects inside of the ambulance.

The car moved quickly through the streets, the stretcher moved as well as Leila due to the harsh movement but both were firmly tied up to avoid them from falling. Few minutes after she felt to be moving downwards, possibly to a basement and then the car stop and the men went down of it. Seconds after the door opened.

Releasing the stretcher from the car's floor the men took it out of the ambulance, Leila was firmly attached to the bed and one of the men said.
"Fuck! I forgot to body bag it!" rapidly taking a bag from the ambulance, croching the stretcher again, releasing Leila, carrying, bagging, and back to the bed to be tied up again!

No weapons, nothing sharp, terrific. Leila tested the straps on her to see how much she could move and she started to wonder if she'd be spending the night wherever she was. Then they stopped for good and she heard the doors open and shut, the men coming to release her. It took her stern concentration not to roll her eyes and spat at the men for attempting to put her in the body bag, but she went ahead with it acting like loose dead weight to be plodded around and shoved in a bag. And now all there was is darkness.

Leila is moved from the basement to another place, she feels that her bag is carried up and down again, this time over a plate of metal judging by the sound, then she is left there.

Leila was able to hear the men walking away, the door closing and even the click of the light switch as it went off. She was absolutely alone.

Leila thought about escaping just then. But she knew it to be dangerously close to daytime. She tested the zipper in the bag to see if she could get out when she was ready the next night. Then after a few seconds she set her mind to concentrating on healing the painful wound on her mouth. She concentrated all of her blood and her will on making sure her mouth would heal.

Leila focused all her will, as instructed first by Samuel theoreticly and afterwards by Stein with more practical tips she was now ready to do it for the first time. She concentrated deeply to focus her viate on the wound, feeling the pain retreating and slowly closing the gap, even feeling the teeth growing again from her gum, it was an slow wierd experience, even exhausting.

The hole closed completely, she felt her teeth again with the tip of her tongue, were all there, in perfect fashion. It was excellent! no pain at all! still she felt her face partially paralysed, and all her body also slow like she was in the brink of slumbering. Daylight coming?
