Meeting with the investors (Flashback - Star)

There was a calm cold night at North Manhattan, Diana Vick the Ventrue Muscle and her partner Susan Avil had made the choice to meet with Star in an old italian restaurant nearby the Old Bank.
The street was never lonely, busy with cars and people jaywalking to cross from one side to the other even at this late hour. The sidewalks were crowded as well, many street musicians and magicians still were lingering on the wait for a few more dollars they could grasp before going home (or for some the next drive high).
When Rebecca made it to the 86th street crossing both Madison and Park Avenue in Manhattan, right at the limit with Harlem, she looked around and saw the drug sell movement was quite obvious, not much cover up, not that anyone really care. At the distance she could hear a couple of shots, probably a pistol of average caliber being fired. The place wasn't pretty, there was low profile written all over the front stores of every business around here.
The italian restaurant where she was expected was at the other side of the street, a few meters away. The place had nothing odd or special, simply a discrete and almost empty place to chat with some friends.
Inside were Diana, Susan and Gordon, the realtor keeping the bank deeds and other related documents along with the contract to sell and give to Rebecca the property. The conversation was rather casual, although very to the point when it came to the documentation.
Once the description of the documents and procedure were detailed explained, which included the property of the vault as a separated asset. Diana added.
"Gordon we will be needing the vault maker's phone number. Most likely Miss Garrison will want to change the combination and all the security protocols."
The man acknowledge in silence.
Everything was finished and the folder containing all the relevant documents was given to Rebecca with a handshake from Gordon and the two vamptresses.

Star made her way across Manhattan to meet with potential investors for her up and coming business.
The building, permits and all were gifted to her from "the family" to establish a haven in the city. But turning that Haven into a thriving business venture and a sustainable source of revenue was a whole other story.
Star was very aware of the risks she would face hosting a "mortal" establishment on the top of where she rested every day, and she knew it would hold its own set of problems.
Part of her wanted to just carve out an underground bunker for herself somewhere remote and litter it with automatic military grade turrets and trip wire booby traps.
Even her father would probably prefer something along those lines compared to what she was attempting.
Star could not deny that there was something within her that pulled her to new heights, and to not make proper use of the space she was gifted felt like an injustice, not only to herself, but her blood.
She had a vision
She had always wanted to own a bar, but the thought of a shitty little hole in the wall serving water downed spirits to the dregs of society made her feel dirty now.
No, her blood demanded more of her and she was full of ambition.
Star had visions of a hot new nightclub that would shine as bright as she would, And she would call it "StarLight" after herself and the name her father gave her.
Star passed the street performers and musicians, dropping a few bucks into a hat as she looked to the night sky, trying to see the stars above the city line. A hard task within the busy streets.
She smiled as she thought about how she would decorate the inside of the club so the stars of the night sky would never be far from her sight.
Star dressed appropriately for the meeting. A little black dress, pups and overlapping hand bag. Nothing overly experience, and nothing that screamed "I'm a rich bitch please come and mug me!"
Normally she wasn't overly concerned about her attire, preferring to dress down or more practical than this. But this was a meeting with "family", and she knew they expected things.
Star took in a breath, centering herself before she entered the restaurant. She corrected her pose and fixed her hair a little, doing her best not to have her reflection caught in the glass windows as she entered.
Star greeted the two in an appropriate manner with respect.
Star's smile and polite demeanor never changed, though she was a bit surprised in herself for forgetting about the combination.

The mature man acknowledge with a nod to Vick's request and went for an small brown notebook in the left pocket of his jacket and after a few seconds he stopped to write a phone number on a piece of paper along with a company name 'Fort Knox Vaults' next to it.
He then said.
"Those are the vault makers, lucky that they are still on business after so many years. I hope they can help you..."
Susan smiled and said right away.
"I think that'd be all for tonight Mr Gordon, as usual a pleasure to make your acquaintances."
The man took a hat and set it over his head as he stood up and with a touch on its wing he said his goodbye, politely as expected. The man gesture was corresponded with a wave by Vick and a smile by Susan wishing him best of luck.
After the mortal had left the premises Diana lowered her voice and said to Rebecca.
"Ms Garrison, that company belongs to Lictor Gioberti (Valentine). I'd suggest to handle your request through him or his Tribune Lady Pherguson (Valery)."
To Star the mention of the Chess Master and his loyal squire Lady Valery was refreshing. He now was in a much stronger position and closer to the Prince as he moved his haven to the Ivory Tower, at least for now.
Susan then asked Rebecca, uncomfortable for being taken out of her golden cage to dwell in such dirty and ugly looking places like this Italian restaurant. It was clear then that Diana was the one that picked up the place of the meeting to Susan's contempt.
"Can we help you with anything else Ms. Garrison?"
He then said.

Susan smiled and said right away.

Star sat quietly, being proper and plight as one could expect from a young Ventrue in a public place.
A small smirk crossed her face when she heard the man comment about the business being active all these years.
She already had a inkling that they were Kindred owned from the way the conversion was heading.
Though she was surprised to hear that Lord Valentine own it.
Star smiled and gave a nod as she spoke softly.

" ....ah yes, thank you kindly Lady Vick, I shall do just that.."
Star actually look forward to seeing Lord Valentine and Lady Valerie again and Her mind was filled with the pleasant thoughts of her time at the chess club and the battles she had fought there. Star wondred how now living at the Ivory Tower was treating the two.
Star smiled and shook her head "no"

" You have been most helpful Lady Avil, im sure i have taken up enough of your time this eve.
She said polightly, holding a friendly smile
"thank you both so much for taking time out of your night to see me about this matter. I am greetful."
Once the pair had said their goodbyes and Susan made hast to leave this establishment, Star watched the two leave. When they were well out of sight Star slouched back in her chair, dropping her proper demeanor and taking on more of a relaxing one, rolling her shoulders and cracking the stress from her neck.
She pondered slightly about what it must be like to only exist in a gilded cage, surrounded by lavish riches, servants and anything you desire at your finger tips.
Star felt herself chuckling at such a thought, knowing that it was something she just couldn't wrap her head around. Though someone like Susan might not understand the thrill of battle ether.
"To each their own" she thought.
