Warehouse Chemical Explosion: Dozens Hospitalized, One Critical, More Treated On-Scene
The victims at the 1.3 million-square-foot FBI security warehouse in Brooklyn, just outside of Mill Basin, reportedly had burning and asphixia after the confiscated chemicals ignited on their own due to a failure in the acconditioning system. This is the second incident related with the these chemicals in two days.
"Today at our Mill Basin security warehouse, a damaged air aconditioner system cause these extremly volatile chemicals to overheat and explode causing damage to property and wounding three members of the security staff, one of which is in critical condition" Jeff Lanza - FBI Speaker.
“All agents affected by the explosion are being treated with all the proper medical atention in the NYC Burning Treatment Center.” Lanza said. “Huge Barton remains in critical condition and we all pray for his fast recovery."
The critically injured employee was taken to Burning Treatment Center at Harlem's facility.
