There are good games and bad games and there are those that doesn't even qualify as such. A game is an activity in which all of its participants are expecting to have fun with eachother, not at anyone's expenses. Starting with that definition not even the StoryTeller (and specially the ST) is excluded.

What's fun? The concept difers from one person to the other but in this chronicle there are a few guidelines that will help you understand it in this particular case:

  • Character weaknesses are not for exploitation: some characters have families and properties, ties with their past and simply stuff they care about. More than just another part of the world, are part of what defines the character as it is. Therefore, no player (including the ST) will exploit these soft spots without that character's players opinion taken into account. This doesn't mean the player can decide wether his character's family is killed or not but his opinion will be taken in consideration before the StoryTeller makes the call for it to be allowed or not.

  • No player's character can be slaved: in Vampire the Masquerade there are many ways to dominate a character, to make it do whatever the domitor wants it to do: from blood bound to dominate, presence, you name it. The rule is simple all supernatural methods used by one player to enslave another's character are out of bounds. The only exception being when the storyteller uses any of those for drama purposes and its only temporary.

  • OOC Bullying is forbidden: of course there will be contact between players, that's also part of the fun, even encouraged because it creates a bound of friendship that is the only result IRL allow players to share the fun they're having. In this relationship some players usually feel inclined to advice and even critize another player's actions, this is also a good thing but should be always respectful, meaning that it must be said in a way that doesn't offend the other player's sensitivity or selfsteem about how his character should be played, afterall is his or hers to partake in the chronicle.

Following this simple guide lines we will have a blast. Remember if you're not having fun is not even a game! Stand up and leave!
