Conclave of the Roses (Tristina)

After changing into her new clothes Tristina comes out of the bathroom feeling a little awkward and overdressed, even tho she didn't know how formal was the occasion. Victoria was always in a dress so it was hard to tell but in this case they were equally in the Victorian style and age.

Victoria got close looking carefully at Tristina, for any little detail out of place and she found some. At the end, she was in the pose of a Victorian Lady with a hand fan and shiny heels and bird cage for the dress, whatever it's name was, and all that. Eventually she said.
"Perfect! You're flawless Childe, still you should work on your posture, it lacks elegance."

Offering her arm to Tristina, Victoria started to walk down the room to another wooden door between two hanging carpets. A few steps away the door opened on it self, or so it seemed until she could devise a servant holding it open for the two vamptresses. A black muscular man, bald and topless.

He bows before Victoria and stays down until she passes by.

That door leads to a short passage with three portraits of Victoria, because of the technique and it's appearance they were obviously painted with huge time gaps between them but yet it was the same woman that she is tonight. At the end of the hallway another slave waiting for Victoria to open the door before her, at the other side was a ballroom with polished wooden walls, exquisitely finished and holding many electrical lamps seemingly old made out of crystal and brass.

Inside the room were four other dressed in the same victorian style, one Teheran the other three unknown. Two woman and one man. The unknown man was old, about seventy with long sleeves and a black pearl holding the vest cover closed. The two unknown female were both dressed in white with very different dresses whatsoever, one with it's crinoline holding it wide and pompous, while the other had an slim gentleman wear with cup hat and cane with a red gemstone on top.

When Victoria entered the room they all bowed and Victoria said.
"Good evening, if you excuse me I'd like to introduce you to Tristina Rose of Clan Toreador"

Tristina felt a little awkward in this dress. It was definitely something that she always wanted to wear, for Halloween or at a Gothic costume ball. But it wasn't something you would just wear out an about. She hoped that the people she was to meet would not think she was out of place.

Eventually she said.
"Perfect! You're flawless Childe, still you should work on your posture, it lacks elegance."

Tristina gave Victoria a nod, and immediately straighten her posture standing up straight with her head held high, trying to portray a bit of confidence.

She took Victoria's arm and proceeded to follow her down the hallway. She took particular note of paintings on the wall.
With Tristina's eye for detail , she was easily able to distinguish that the paintings were indeed from different time periods. She found it hard to believe and she wondered if these were all really Victoria.
It was a uncanny resemblance to the point of impossibility. And it boggled her mind.

As they move along she takes notice of the servants, and thinks Victoria must be extraordinary well-off to have such in her employ.

As they entered the room with the other, Tristina didn't feel so out of place. She let her eyes fall over the crowd of people as they bowed to Victoria..
She remained quiet and let Victoria lead.

When Victoria entered the room they all bowed and Victoria said.
"Good evening, if you excuse me I'd like to introduce you to Tristina Rose of Clan Toreador"

Tristina tryed not to show her confusion. She had a bit of etiquette within her and she did a feminine curtsy-bow to those in the room when she was introduced.

This idea resounded with a silly joy that contrasted with Tristina's train of thoughts that she could empathized with the woman in the gentleman outfit across the room that was giggling to herself, covering her mouth with her white leather glove.

" ...it a pleasure"

Tristina 'heard' in her thoughts the unmistakable voice of Victoria saying <You're expected to bow gracefully, we will have to work in that as well...> followed by a made up memory projected in her mind of how it was supposed to do it properly.

Victoria then gazed upon the silly giggling vamptress and equally silent projected her own thoughts into Tristina's mind to say. <I can also teach you how to detect and avoid mental intrusions.>

Meanwhile the attendants went to meet the newly embraced Toreador and presented each one by name and position, just out of formality, without expecting from her to fully understand.

The Bald man came first and said.
"Good evening Neonate Tristina Rose, my name is Erick Smith, Keeper of Secrets It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." then bowed respectfully.

The silly giggling lady in a gentleman suit came second and said making an stun with her ruby crowned cane.
"Tristina Rose, what an appropriate name for a Toreador. Nice to meet you sweetheart, my usual name is Gabriela, Chancellor Gabriela del Castillo, at your services."

Third was Teheran, she already knew him but still protocol demanded a formal introduction, which was more than just giving his name, before Tristina's eyes he literally transformed into someone else, leaving the strange Punk look with tattoos and piercings for an still Arab looking guy, slightly older with long black hair.
"The name is Qadir al-Asmai Keeper of Elysium and Myrmidon of the Toreador. Welcome to the Clan."

The other white dressed woman came forth and gallantly she bowed with flawless elegance and said.
"Katherine Ivanova Brotovich, Queen of Harpies at the Metropolitan Elysium. I look forward to have a sweet conversation with you Ms Rose, Primogen Ash has you in the highest opinion."

Lastly Victoria introduced herself properly, taking off her mask. She looked almost exactly the same except the level of symmetry, the soft texture of her skin, the glowing color of her eyes buffed to a supernatural level, making her inhumanly beautiful, then with the voice of an Angel she said.
"I am Lady Victoria Alexandra Ashwood Hetherford, Primadonna of the Clan of the Rose, Primogen of the Princedom of New York City and your Sire." she sentenced.

Tristina noticed the woman start to giggle, and wondered what was so funny. She realized that she had picked up on Tristina's thought, probably much in the same way Victoria had before. It all seemed impossible, but some how they could read her thoughts.

Tristina was slightly surprised by this, but tryed her best not to show it. Instead she immediately tried to mimic what memories were projected in her mind.

As the Kindred came up to introduce themselves proper, Tristina found herself lost in a sea of titles and words that she did not understand.

Tristina forcibly blinked her eyes in surprisement. She knew what she just saw and had no explanation in her mind for it.
Her jaw hung slightly ajar, and she blinked a few times to recover from what she witnessed. She remembers Victoria's words "trust what you see & feel. You are not hallucinating"

"The name is Qadir al-Asmai Keeper of Elysium and Myrmidon of the Toreador
She smiled and bowed respectively ,receiving each of them as they announce themselves.

She said, her mind still trying to make sense of this all, though he gave her his title she had no idea what Elysium was Or really a Myrmidon was aside from what she thought it ment.

But Tristina started to realize she honestly didn't know sh!t about what was going on. It seemed Victoria was correct that all of this has very little to do with Tristina's logical view of human definitions of words.

again Christina did not understand the context of the words and titles that were being presented by these people. But she figured that all will be explained in time so she smiled and was polite.

Tristina smiles politely as Victora steps up to introduce herself.

When Victoria dropped her mask Tristina was captivated by her stunning Beauty, she was desirable and alluring. Tristina felt flustered, and greatful to be in the presence of this goddess like woman.

Tristina held her smile and was very polite, but in her mind she wanted to ask so many questions. "What was the Clan of the Rose? " " what is a Primogen ?" There is a princdome in NewYork? " And what was a "Sire". Tristina knew that these words didn't hold the same meanings as there human counterparts. This was all so new and fascinating. Tristina tryed hard not to become overwhelmed by it all. Though she felt very lost.

After all the introductions were properly made and Tristina said her last words, Ash said.
"The Clan of the Rose, The Toreador welcomes you Tristina Rose as our Neonate. You're now under my Accounting but all these prestigious kindreds will be auxiliary guides in your Quest for perfection.

You will learn that my words are literal and honest as few mortals could speak up, so listen and listen well...

You're ours from now on, ours to protect, care and rise and ours to destroy. Your former existence as a mortal finished the moment you stopped breathing and now you are reborn as one of the Kindred, use your time wisely because eternal life is also made step by step." she sentenced.

Then she turned to the rest of the vampires present and said.
"Brothers and Sisters, offsprings... The Clan requires you and commands you, take care of this Child as she was your own, help her made us all proud of sharing our blood with her."

Then back looking severely into Tristina's eyes she said.
"Your first rule, the one we care about the most. Obeying it means to be among us, break it and we shall end your existence without hesitation: no one can know what you are or about our existence." she sentenced once more.

"You will be taught in our ways before your introduction before the Assembly of the Clan Affairs. You are forbidden to leave these premises alone and you will obey your Elders without hesitation, that is the cost of your survival until you are released from my Accounting in your presentation before Prince Bright.

Katherine, please show Ms Rose to her quarters. You're all dismissed."

She tryed to absorb all that was being said, but something Victoria spoke raised red flags in her mind

Tristina blinked a bit in surprise, not entirely sure how she should take this, but knew Victoria ment every word.

Tristina felt awkward, Victoria spoke with such Authority that she felt both honored and skittish. Again Victoria talked about blood. Was blood really such a big part of this whole thing she wonders.

Tristina felt the gravity of her words, Victoria was absolutely dead serious.

"I know this is all too unsettling and unnerving even but trust me, I wouldn't hurt you and with enough time you will understand. For now I can promise you that you will be safe, both physically and mentally, no brainwashing, no drugs, no manipulation.

Just give yourself enough time to see and comprehend all the evidence you need to change your mind."

Then she looks at Katherine and nods. The Queen of Harpies steps forward offering Tristina to accompany her.

Tristina was confused and scared, but reassured by Victoria's words.
Though she wasn't exactly happy with all this, but she trusted Victoria.
The teen cracks a smile and nods to Victoria, school can wait she guessed, at least till she figured this mess out. After all Jorge could still collect her homework, and how long could it really be before things got back to normal?

Tristina gave a nod and turned to Katherine trying to be brave and hold a smile to hide her confusion.

She took the lady's arm and let her escort her where she wanted to go.

Though Tristina was mostly silent her thoughts raced as she tryed to make since of this all, and what was happening to her.

Brotovich smiled back and started to retreat from the room. Once outside she pulled a locker from her hair, leaving it free, out of the hairdo as she swings it left to right cracking her neck. She says.
"Isn't it a relief?" she thinks out loud.

"I've heard pieces of your story Tristina Rose but no one has been eloquent enough about it, some sort of great artist turned gray, it seems. Would you care to elaborate?"

A second later she loses the embroiled gloves placing them on her waist's ribbon and by the time they were entering in a room close by she had her shinny heels in her hand and was starting to open up her dress.
"If you excuse me, I need to change my attire."

She goes behind a dresser screen and continues her exposition.

I guess the answer is about the same now that I think about it, little over thirty years..." her silluette was fully hidden behind the dresser and when she came out was wearing a white T-shirt with sublimated red lips stamp showing one shoulder with a beautiful rose in electric lightnings tattooed there and a pair of red velvet like jeans with low heeled sandals.

The had her hair falling wildly except for a pair of red sunglasses keeping it from covering her face.
"In a few month I'll be celebrating my seventy fifth birthday."

Tristina was more thirsty then she realized, and nothing sounded better then her favorite beverage in the world right now

On the phone she asks for a cup of coffee, a cappuccino. Meanwhile she says.

Kate starts to tell a story from her 'old days' a vivid memory from the 1920's when she was born back in Brooklyn, she came from a poor home struggling with the consequences of WWI, she had to become a beggar asking for bread and coins to live the day.

One day she was hired to play with a rich girl in town named Suzanne Kadim, an spoiled brat she was. Daughter of a diplomat living in a golden cage. Still she was happy to bring food and more coins to her family but she wasn't truly happy. She spent five years or so just being a play mate until she became a young lady, old enough to be employed and trusted to keep Lady Suzanne safe and sound.

It was amazing to hear Kate speaking like an old granny, just spelling the beads about her young day tales of happiness and sorrow to anyone that cared to listen. The amount of detail and vivid storytelling was enchanting and hard to snap out it.

Before she could finish her story someone knocked the door and there it was an smoking cappuccino! Katherine smiled like the spoiled brat of her tail about to make a practical joke.
"There you go!" giving Tristina the smoking cup.

Tristina's mind was conflicted, it smelled just as it should but there was something unappealing about it.

Tristina listened captivated by the detail of Kate's story. It was quite amazing to hear her recant the tale like a old woman.
She almost coundnt believe it, but it Honda genuine and not rehearsed.
Tristina smiled enjoying the conversation immensely.

Before she could finish her story someone knocked the door and there it was an smoking cappuccino! Katherine smiled like the spoiled brat of her tail about to make a practical joke.
"There you go!" giving Tristina the smoking cup.

Tristina took the cup with much excitement

Tristina's mind was conflicted, it smelled just as it should but there was something unappealing about it.

Tristina took the cup, piped the lid and blowed on it to cool it some. The heat from the cup in her hands felt good, it was warm and the smell of coffee was something Tristina loved. Something seemed off about it, but it was coffee And she was really thristy.

Tristina knocked back a large gulp of the warm brew,... Before she realized something was very Wrong.

The warm sensation was oddly pleasant for Tristina, her heighten senses allowed to feel with an impressive level of detail. Temperature variations, texture changes, irregularities and other oddities were obvious to her.

The smell was heavenly: well made organic espresso with beated milk, it had a fine thread of chocolate on top of the foam with a rose. It also emitted sound, like a coke she could also hear the small milk's bubbles popping out.

The anticipation awakened Tristina's memory but in reality it wasn't appealing at all to drink. She saw it, like any other beautiful yet cold and gray piece of art. It wasn't the 'gray' effect but something else she could relate to it, it was more than disappointing but still she could not find any flaw to explain it.

The first zip was everything she remembered, the warmth, the taste, the texture... all was there, the sensation had not change but there was no emotion attached to it, just the memory of that feeling. Then she tried to swallow but her throat refused to glut, still she forced it down keeping it halfway trying to put it in her stomach but her digestive system wasn't working, no reflexes to help the liquid in, her tongue moved at will but not on it's own as it'd logically do.

The few drops of coffee that finally made it to her belly caused an ache, it was a disgusting sensation that she rejected immediately puking it out without control, almost dropping the cup of coffee while she coughed.

Everything about the coffee seemed utterly delicious, it brought back smells and Sensations that Tristina had longed for.
She seemed to savor the smell and warmth of the cup, picking apart every detail like she was deconstructing of painting to reconstruct it later. She caught herself doing this and shook her head.

" ...Kate.. Is it always like this... I can see things in great detail.. I can hear and feel things too.. its like my body is numb, but my senses in overdrive. Its so strange..... Its not really bad... Just different.... Is this just part of being a Kindred or is it just like a mutated side effect... ?... Maybe its just me?"

Tristina said with a shrug and took a long sip from the coffee. And the pain swallowing she's almost immediately started to choke. Her eyes grew wide and she started to convulse as her body rejected the liquid horrible pain in your stomach.
It was one of the most uncomfortable pain she could remember it was like having nothing in your stomach after a large workout and finally putting something Into it.
Tristina's eyes went wide and she and made a groaning sound as she whimpered.

" .....ack!!.....
It ... hurts.... Ugh... I...I'm gona a..be."
Tristina never finished any of her words before she was forced to regurgitate the liquid onto the floor and barely missing her dress , gripping her stomach and trying not to spill the rest of the coffee on herself.

" .why??? It.... What...the..hell...*cough* was in that??.."

Tristina said as she coughed up the rest of the coffee. In truth she knew what was in the coffee. Her new acute senses told her so, right down to the type of espresso bean that was used. And yet it was horrible.

Tristina so embarrassed for throwing up in front of cake and she profusely apologized in her confusion

Kate took the coffee cup away from Tristina lending her a handkerchief to cover her modesty.
"It is ok Trist, I told you... you can only drink blood. It is just the way it is."

Then she continued watching that Tristina was more calmed now.
"You can't predict your preferences based on your experiences as a mortal human. Much like coffee used to be good and now is not, blood that used to have such a disgusting taste now is just heavenly.

Would you like to try some of it?"

Tristina took Kate's handkerchief and dabbed her mouth and tryed ti clean up.

"It is ok Trist, I told you... you can only drink blood. It is just the way it is."

This was like a nail in the coffin for Tristina, she looked a bit devastated

Tristina made a sour face and a "ick" sound.
She could not fathom how possibly blood could taste good.

Tristina looked sad and a bit disheveled
" ... Do...do I have to drink blood?.... Its so..eww.. I mean I dont even like bloody or raw steak.

Ugh.. Gross... So um.. Are we talking human blood or animal blood... Pigs blood maybe?..
We had to use pigs blood once in a Cinema effects class and it was utterly disgusting ...oh God the smell... I can still recall it.. It tool like 11 baths just to get that stink out of my hair....

I dont think I can do this.... I mean.. Where the hell do you get blood from anyway?.. .
butcher shops?.... A blood bank?..
I can't even believe I'm considering this...
Can't I just not.. And say I did... Is drinking blood really a big deal?

Tristina looked very skittish around the topic of it all . but at least she was opening up to it a bit more than she was before , which was a good sign

Tristina made a groaning noise in protest, kinda like a teenager that had just been told by someone to clean her room. She really didn't want to do it. but she started to realize she might not have very much of a choice in the matter if she really had to go through with drinking blood…

Kate picked up the phone asking the strangest order 'bring me blood in a cup'. Instead of finding resistance or having to explain herself, the order was taken immediately and she hang up.

She finished her story, she was a babysitter then chaperone. At some point her protegee became a vampire and Katherine her ghoul until she was worthy of the Embrace, turning her into a full fleshed kindred. That night was the happiest, finally she was free.

She was interrupted again. The servant knocks the door bringing a blood filled cup on a plate, presenting it to the vamptresses and withdrawing with a bow.

Kate picked up and gave it to Tristina. The smell was indeed blood, that metallic scent mixed with fluids and that characteristic organic tone. For the Neonate it was the exact opposite to coffee, her memory was telling her how disgusting it was while her body wanted it more than anything, if she could would have drool all over it.

Then Tristina touch it's surface with the tip of her tongue, prepared to puke again but instead her whole body reacted with ecstasy, shivering from head to toes like the taste of the finest wine she have ever had. The taste was distinguishable blood but not ordinary blood, it was sweet and tasty, complex and interesting.
