Albany Chantry (SPOILER) Empty Albany Chantry (SPOILER)

Ephraim was sitting in his study at the Albany Tremere Chantry holding a glass of warm blood in his right hand. His favorite chair was comfortable and very tall, may be to compensate some of the Imp's disabilities or may be just to look his visitors in the eyes. In front of him was a thick dark wood desk with a few tomes he was studying while the Gangrel situation was being address last night.

One of his apprentices knocks at the door and on his Regent's command he enters the room. The middle age man was wearing a dark blue robe with a silver cord at his waist. He bowed before saying.
"Lord Ephrain Wainwright, I've news from the Gangrel. They were seen sprouting out of the soil early tonight and leaving the Chantry's precint running away."

Lord Ephraim smiled and said.
"If that's all you're dismissed." and the Apprentice bowed before leaving and closing the door behind.

<I was expecting far more resistance from these animals. They went easy, per haps too easy. I wonder how the discussion would be in the Primogen Council. Surely Astor would ask Helena to return the prisoners, by then we'd already have the interrogation results and have fulfilled the Prince order without allowing the beasts in my Chantry.>

He stood up and looked in the horizon at the lights casted by New York City at far. It was like an aurora borealis in his opinion, beautiful and mysterious.

The went to the other side of the room where a wired phone was resting upon an small table, dialing the number to the New York University Chantry to leave a message for the Primogen.
"The animals were cast out. They have runnaway."

Still was a splinter in his head, tonight was September 22nd and the celebration of the Autum Equinox a night of growing darkness feared in ancient nights by all, living and the dead. Demons were unleashed tonight.
<Where did the Gangrels go?> he thought, asking himself.

He went downstairs to look in the Chantry Library, ferreting for Gangrel traditions. He remembered some sort of event this evening in the Beast Clan. He spent a few hours looking for the information, he knew it was there, somewhere and eventually he found it

<Gangrel celebrate each years a Gather in the Equinox of Autum as a hunting party or call to the arms to destroy a common enemy of the Clan, this type of Gather is often called a Revel...> the Tremere was even offended by the idea of these barbaric beasts even considering violence as an option to solve their problems, much less to connect in his mind this pagan celebration with his current situation.

Albany Chantry (SPOILER) Empty Re: Albany Chantry (SPOILER)

Back in his study Ephraim was unsettled, something wasn't right. Still he could only check with his security. Everything was perfect, in the basement the interrogation was already making some progress. He was standing in front of one of the Chantry's windows when suddenly a mysterious myst started to cover the streets near by and a hive of bats flew across the sky followed by birds and insects, one bird after another crashing against the building and it's windows, some crashing throught the glass others just smashed to death.

This was certainly Gangrel's doing and his apprentices went to their positions in the upper levels of the structure waiting in any second some hive of bats to transform into a vampire or any other animal for that matter. Instead the ground started to shake, the structure was trembling and they started to lose balance confused by the whole situation. In the basement some yells warned from the ghouls warned the Tremere upstairs that the animals were actually a distraction meant to extract the prisoners from below.

Meanwhile, the Regent was prepared to burn anything comming at him, the myst was thicker and thicker with every passing second blocking completely his view of the outside. His magically protected windows was the only one in the building holding against the bird attack and his empowering spells had him ready to make the whole room to gain life in a second to attack any intruder. The earthquake began mildly, the chantry shaking hard and then crushing on itself until less than a minute later he felt like falling down.

The Chantry building crashed in the bottom of the sinkhole all vampires where unconciouss or very injured by the fall. The very Regent was trying to stand up when thounsands of liters of water started to fall over them with at least twenty well armed Gangrels and their pets looking for Tremeres to stake to the Heart. Astor was among them, Ephraim froze terrified of the Primogen Presence coming at him, determined to destroy him, his predatorial gaze was the warning before the storm and there was nothing he could do.

However Jacob Astor had a different fate in mind, invoking his discipline to control the Beast within the Tremere he not only forced the kindred out of control but made that state permanent, locking the warlock's mind into an animalistic intelligence good enough to fetch the paper and nothing more.
