Princedom of New York

It is well known that 7 Clans form the Camarilla since the Convention of Thorns in 1493. Where all signatary Elders Adana de Sforzaof of Brujah, Milov Petrenkov of Gangrel, Camilla Banes of Malkavian, Josef von Bauren of Nosferatu, Rafael de Corazon of Toreador, Mistress Fanchon of Tremere and Hardestadt the Younger of Ventrue change history and for the first time brought peace to the world.

Those founding members now are Camarillas Inner Circle with a formal meeting every 13 years in a Secret location, usually away from flegling eyes. This event results in a Royal Communication to all Princes around the World, document containing naming of officers, changes in policies, commands to a certain territories and even decisions about worldwide policies. Defying these sometimes cryptic messages are a great offens to the Camarilla institution and carry harsh consequences.

Each Clan has representants in every Princedom of the Camarilla, usually a founding member of the City or an Officer commitioned by the Inner Circle itself. Although many cities have a tradition of Primogen Changes by their local rules, this naming isn't recognize until the Inner Circle confirms it. However, no Prince can be named without the express consent of the Inner Circle, so penalty of stake to the heart and slumber for 100 years.

New York is a state in the northeastern United States. New York was one of the original Thirteen Colonies that formed the United States. With an estimated 19.85 million residents in 1997, it is the fourth most populous state. To differentiate the state from the city with the same name, it is sometimes called New York State.

The state's most populous city, New York City, makes up over 40% of the state's population. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York metropolitan area, and nearly 40% lives on Long Island. The state and city were both named for the 17th century Duke of York, the future King James II of England. With an estimated population of 7.55 million in 1997, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York metropolitan area is one of the most populous in the world. New York City is a global city, home to the United Nations Headquarters and has been described as the cultural, financial and media capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.

New York State however, has another capital, the Vampiric Capital New York City, where the Prince resides and rules his Princedom. The Camarilla structure in New York is very classic, as shown in the following image:

New York has a complex history from being of the 13 colonies, the Breadbox of England in America to the Cosmopolitan and modern State it is today.

The Convention of Thorns took place in 1493 almost at the same time of Colombus reaching the New World. Europe was almost entirely controlled by the Camarilla or the Inquisition and many Kindred came to America hopeing to find a new home to call their own. Backthen the territories were controlled by native werewolves that fought fiercely against the new comers or Wyrm Bringers as they were called.

For a time there was not enough control over the territory to stablish a Princedom of any kind but after the successful trade of Manhattan in 1626, thanks to combinated efforts against the Garou and the purchase of the Land by pioneers the fundations were well founded, the first Camarilla Princedom ruled by Bernhard Heyn of the Toreador Clan.

His ruling lasted until Eccaterina The Wise came from Europe in 1700. She came with immigrant Sabbat and siege control over the City in less than a decade, being officially Declare Arsbishop by 1729 and she ruled this territory for more than 100 years until Lady Anne Bowesley of Ventrue brough Science and Enlightment from Boston to these wild lands keeping a precarious Princedom for many years until Shakar Nostoket of Nosferatu attacked her in 1900, sending her to Torpor and leaving the City again to its fate of depravation with gangs and prohibition.

Ladislav Toth a Ravnos Antitribu was declared Arsbishop, allying with Giovani Clan and all Sabbat Clans to thrive in depravation and make the city prosper out of delinquency and vice for the following years. Until in 1930 Michaela of Ventrue reclaim the rightful domain of her clan over the City and banish Sabbat and Anarchs from this territory delivering Final Death to Ladislav in a public execution.

Sabbat response was one to be feared in 1950 they stroke with all their forces leaving the city without Price and all primogen scattered in the four winds by the ruling of Francisco Domingo de Polonia who ruled with iron fist under a militaristic reing.


Then in 1990 Prince Micheal Bright and Calebros of Nosferatu came to conquer and succeed achieving peace and civilization once more.

From that past to this presente many things have change but for Vampire this was just yesterday and things that really matter are just as they were, back in the day. As all Camarilla Cities, New York has a Prince and 7 Primogens to represent each Great Clan. These are the most renown Vampires in New York History (at least those still in existence after almost four centuries of struggles.

This domain comes from the very begining of the United States as a civilized country in 1664 by Peter Minuit on Manhattan Island as the Province of New York under british control, also known as the BreadBasket due to its economic importance to England back in the day, then earn the name of the Empire State as it prospered and finally the State of New York after its independence and federation.

George Clinton was elected its first Governor in 1777 after declaring its independence from the mother land and adopted its first constitution. Which attracted one third of all battles to its soil and led nearly half of european immigration as a lighthouse in the storm.

Peter Midnight: Dutch trader of great wealth and prestige, after killing every single werewolf on the Manhattan island he took it from the native americans for a few golden coins. After a while he came back to the Old Continent to hide and wait for his face to be forgotten by humans, leaving his friend George Clinton in charge until his final death at the hands of the Sabbat in 1990s. Event that forced his return to the New World and to take the reigns of a convultioned clan.

Among other ways for trade Fur had the crown, competing only by far with wheat and iron in New York State. In Albany New York the American Fur Company was founded by a German immigrant known as John Jacob Astor whos most remarkable bussiness strategy was to encourage anti-british sentiments to disrrupt his competitors such as the Hudson's Bay Company and the North West Company which none survived after New York independence.

Astor also allied with the Russian-American Company and extended his domains from the Great Lakes to the Great Plains to finally control all North American Fur Trade.

Extending the Gangrel power over the State of New York and beyond. Gangrels under Jhon Jacob's ruling took a neutral position towards the Garou Nation, showing respect for the heirarcy and territories in exchange for good trades and weapons supply against the British that had decimated their people. Win-Win you may say.

After the Sabbat Faction took the City in 1990 Jacob retreated to New York upstate and played a key role in the city recuperation when the Camarilla counterstrike assuring his dominance over the territory and as a Primogen of his Clan.

In the year 1736 a building known as the “Publick Workhouse and House of Corrections of the City of New York” was built on the site where the City Hall now stands, and under its roof the insane were confined, together with the unruly, the destitute, the aged and the infirm. In the description of its interior allusion is made to a strong room or cage for the refractory on the west side of the cellar. A newspaper of the year 1776 contains mention of an order from some one in authority whereby five or six English soldiers were sent to convey a crazy woman to the workhouse.

While a New York City hospital built on Broadway in 1771 catered to high society,  Bellevue soon became a refuge for the undesirables of the time, mostly the immigrants living in the torrid slums of lower Manhattan. For the 300,000 souls per square mile crammed into the tenements, Bellevue was often their last port of call. In 1879 Harpers New Monthly Magazine ran an article on New York’s hospitals. Bellevue was described as being “for the poorest of the poor, the dregs of society, the semi-criminal, starving unwelcome class who suffer and die unrecognized.”  It was overrun with foundlings (New York’s abandoned infants), the insane, alcoholics, victims of epidemics, the homeless, and patients ranging from the suicidal to the homicidal. Overcrowded, sleeping three to a bed, or more often on the floor, conditions were abysmal. In 1876 it was reported that 48% of all amputations proved fatal due to “the poison in the walls.” Harpers summed up the miserable institution as such: “The wards are filled with wasted souls drifting through the agonies of disease toward unpitied and unremembered deaths.”

The alcoholic cells were often merely way stations for a trip to the asylums of Blackwell’s (now Roosevelt) Island, lying in sight from Bellevue up the East River. If patients were lucky enough to be cured, as reporter and champion of tenement reform Jacob Riis wrote in his photoessay, How the Other Half Lives, “the maelstrom has no bowels of mercy; and the would-be fugitives are flung back again and again into the devouring whirlpool of crime and poverty, until the end is reached on the dissecting-table, or in the Potter’s Field.”

Jhon Bard and Peter Middleton were the first dissectors and the minds behind the mental illness system in New York State and the United States for that matter. Bard was in charge of Blackwell's Island Institute for the Mentally Illed while Middleton ruled the Bellevue treating the poor and disgraced, running their experiments on madness and depravation of the human mind.

John Bard was a Christian philanthropist. He and his wife, Margaret Johnston, founded Bard College in New York, which was then known as St. Stephen's College, in order to train Episcopal Church ministers. His nexus with the Christian church high value for humanity made a good reputation for him with the Celestial Chorus whom supported his enthusiasm for scholar studies and the Academy.

Malkavian Clan thrived inside the Physician College of New York City in charge of the mentally illed as well for many years. This allowed Malkavian an steady supply of blood for their heir, allowing to increase their number and prosper rapidly in the New World.

George William Featherstonhaugh

In 1806 George William Featherstonhaugh (Fanshaw) went to the United States where he planned to study the languages of the indigenous people and found love in the arms of Sarah Duane of Schenectady with who he had two beautiful children: Ann and Georgianna. His true vocation for agriculture inspired him to started a farm, organising the first New York Board of Agriculture. This enterprise gave him great respect from the aborigen community and good trades with his homeland.

Difficulties he experienced in the economic transportation of his crops led Featherstonhaugh to advocate a steam railroad that would connect the Hudson River at Albany, New York with the navigable Mohawk River at Schenectady. His acquaintance with George Stephenson The Father of All Railroads, facilitated his quest. Ten years were spent in an attempt to educate the public for the experiment and it was not until December 1825, that Featherstonhaugh was determined to apply for a charter.

After the death of his wife and two daughters and a calamitous fire in 1830 Fanshaw became a cruel heartless man with only profit in his mind. Which he found one night visiting the ashes of his long gone family in the cementery. There his Sire Calebros gave him the Embrace and undertake him next to his wife and beloved daughters.

The New-York Historical Society is an American history museum and library located in New York City at the corner of 77th Street and Central Park West in Manhattan, founded in 1804 as New York's first museum. The New-York Historical Society presents exhibitions, public programs, and research that explore the rich history of New York and the nation. The New-York Historical Society Museum & Library has been at its present location since 1908. The granite building was designed by York & Sawyer in a classic Roman Eclectic style.

Its first Directors were the some of the founding fathers of the United States of America as a symbol of culture and social status the New York Historical Society is up today the most pretigious asociation any artist or philatropist can partake in. David Hosack was one the most renown Directors of this pretigious institution and also the finest. Artist, novelist, scientist, inventor and genious, he has been called many things over the years, in the Present Nights he hold the primogen title of Toreador.

Witch-hunts also took place during the 17th century in the American colonies. These were particularly common in the colonies of Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Haven. The myth of the witch had a strong cultural presence in 17th century New England and, as in Europe, witchcraft was strongly associated with devil-worship. About eighty people were accused of practicing witchcraft in a witch-hunt that lasted throughout New England from 1647 to 1663. Thirteen women and two men were executed. The Salem witch trials followed in 1692–93, culminating in the executions of 20 people. 5 others died in jail.

Witches and warlocks from this time pledge as refugees in New York City under the protective arm of Tremere Clan this group leaded by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky or Madame Blavatsky was mainly formed by women and few other men. Most of them Sleepers but some had True Magick surrendered to the Kiss of the Vampire.

Slavery was introduced to Manhattan in 1626, but it was not until December 13, 1711, that the New York City Common Council made Wall Street the city's first official slave market for the sale and rental of enslaved Africans and Indians. The slave market operated from 1711 to 1762 at the corner of Wall and Pearl Streets. It was a wooden structure with a roof and open sides, although walls may have been added over the years and could hold approximately 50 men. The city directly benefited from the sale of slaves by implementing taxes on every person who was bought and sold there.

That was how Wall Street was born and the old alliance between Ventrue and Followers of Seth begun with the Buttonwood Agreement that years after became the New York Stock Exchange. Over the years both Clans stuck to their finest arts: Ventrue negotiating in the modern Stock Market and Snakes with the old flesh market of human trade.

Two Vampires were among the signataries of the Buttonwood Agreement took advantage of this organization Ephraim Hart of Ventrue and Captain William Kidd embraced by the Followers of Seth in his days as a ruthless pirate with a prosperous bussiness of Human Trade, that led both to be the wealthiest men in New York State.

Ephraim holded the Primogen status until his final death in 1990 Sabbat's overthrown and was substitute later after by his own brother and partner Benjamin Hart. Benjamin's relationship with the Followers is unknown but rumours stand that are more active than ever.
