Leila got a few everyday outfits and as many accessories and toiletries as she would need for a few nights. There were a few pieces she absolutely had to have. Nothing screamed super formal though.

"We need something for tomorrow Samuel. Something beautiful, dramatic that matches, don't you think?"

Leila mused as she flick through a few chiffon dresses, picking one of the up and modeling it for him and the girls opinion.

"I would have loved to have to time to get something custom made, know any designers in these parts that could get something ready in a day?"

She said it jokingly but she was thinking it could seriously be a possibility.

Samuel smiled and turned on himself showing his back to the store's main door, pointing with his finger, which was covered by his body from any espectator at the door. He said.
"I don't think so my dear, it's hard to find someone able to craft something worthy of your beauty in such a short time. However, let me think about it." Due to Sam's pointing Leila spotted a security cam near the door, it wasn't hidden per se, morelike Samuel was highlightning its presence.

With a smooth movement Samuel stretch his arm to reach Leila's cheek with a gentle touch. Then he talked to the bellboy near the door.
"Boy, come here please."

Then flashing a twenty he said.
"Please these bags to our suite"

And so he did. Samuel said.
"We must hurry, they might be waiting for us"

Leila followed his hand and noted the cameras. It took a second for her to realize how what shed said may have caused them issues. He was do smooth in his delivery she knew none would be the wiser as his point turned into a gentle touch. Her fondness for him grew just a little bit more.
She started speaking after she unloaded the bags off to the busboy.

"Well, I don't want to hold us, let us go back."

Back in the hotel room while the girl were organizing their new clothes, the phone rang. Samuel picked.
"Yes?...

Very well, we will be there right away Sir. Thank you."

Then after hanging the call he said to Leila.
"We are being expected at the Bar & Pub, first floor."

Samuel went to get a jacket from his recent buys and went outside offering his arm to Leila.
"Let's go"

Leila assembled all of her things into a luggage bag she'd purchased and then finished off her text to Cross.

[That's sad. Do male slaves get to wear clothes? Smile. ]

After Sam received the call, Leila followed Sam's ques and donned a stylish black women's trench coat.

"Alright. I am all set and ready. Are the girls staying here?

She hooked her arm in his and found herself thinking if the rest of the clan knew they'd left the city. Not that it'd be any of their concern... She rid herself of the thought as she made to leave with Sam.

Samuel nodded.

The path to the bar was as predictable and boring as espected. From the room to the elevator and then walk to the Bar. It's front was made in dark brown wood with several crystal squares, and door wide open. Inside the pub and bar had two enviroments: one the bar with several chairs around it, attended by three male dressed formally; while the pub had several tables with up to four chairs each illuminated with a central dim light over each table.

In the background was a live music band playing blues with a great saxophonist.

Leila took a look around and enjoyed a listen to the live band. She hadn't heard this type of music before but she liked the sound. The dark accents and dim light of the room helped her to feel calm, at home in the darkness. After a moment she started to look around for whom they might be meeting.

"Do you know who we are to meet? Or should we have a seat in a corner?"

He said.
"Yes, there's a VIP room at the back. We're heading there."

Passing the bar and going through the pub were several passages, some to the bathrooms, other two to a different area: a hallway leading to a black glass door, the inside of that place was isolated from the music behind and had its own spectacle which, judging by Leila's ears, was electronic music of somesort.

In front of the black doors was a gentleman, well dressed, standing in front of a tall table, like a wooden pillar. The man wasn't human.

It wasn't just the pale skin but the black veins on his neck, the eyes dry without the reflection of humedity, the long nails, bony fingers and his alien attitude.
"Good evening" said the unhuman being with the coldest and strangest voice Leila had heard. What was The Camarilla thinking when they put such a nasty creature as a receptionist?

Samuel said.
"Good evening, we're being expected by Lord Christopher Houghton. My name is Samuel Garrison and she is Ms. Sorayya al Fadur"

Then man in front of them started to look in its book.
"Welcome Dr. Garrison, please come in. Let me show you the site of your meeting"

"Ah, very well." Leila said in reply. She kept a hold of Samuel as she was escorted to the VIP area. The sight before her was quite disturbing, demonstrating to her that the creatures that were called vampires were able to be well far, far away from humans. She'd wonder if she would ever look like that in her existence. Any humans that wondered back here would likely be consumed before any problems arose no doubt. Even his voice was disturbing, had she been human she'd have shuddered.

"Good evening." Leila offered when Sam said her name.

After the pleasantries were exchanged and instructions given she continued through to the indicated area with Samuel. She casually took in the surroundings and beings present as they went.

Once through the black crystal doors Leila saw a whole new bar, more like a striptease bar. There were cages everywhere with young males and females, from very different ages and races dancing for the public, a very reduced and very pale public.

This room was smaller than the previous, no more than ten tables but had the same structure than before: one big bar and several tables with dimed light. The cages were all attached to the two side walls, equally separated and the entrance was aside of a stage for live (or undead) performance, however this stage was empty at the moment.

The thin guy guide the couple to a table to the left of the entrance, away from it about ten yards. In that table were several individuals sitting since, unlike the previous room, these tables had space for at least eight people. In it's center was a male, caucassian, blonde and tall with at least 6'8'' and heavy also,

Welcome to Beantown (Leila) - Page 2 Vladimir-kulich-by-Linuska

at his sides were four more persons, two males and two females, which from left to right have the following descriptions:

Spoiler:

The man guiding the group said.
"Good evening My Lord. Here is Doctor Samuel Garrison and Ms Sorayya al Fadur as you requested."

Lord> "Thank you Alfred, carry on" two man dressed as help came to help Sam and Leila, pulling the sits for them and taking their jackets if allowed.

Welcome to Beantown (Leila) - Page 2 Empty Re: Welcome to Beantown (Leila)

Post  Leila Tue Jan 29, 2013 12:15 am

Leila unhooked herself from Samuel's arm, unbuttoned and allowed her coat to be taken. She offered thank you's with a polite smile for them pulling out the seat and taking her jacket. She slipped her purse down into the chair with her and sat down with her hands resting in her lap. She wore a small smile on her face, it was subdued but she looked just as confident as any other evening. Her hazel eyes took on a brown hue towards the top of lids, in the midst of the dark oak colors, and reflected the green in her shirt towards the bottom as she briefly met the gazes of the companions in front of her and acknowledging smile was offered for each.

Though her human existence was still gradually being purged from her, she knew from that experience what was customary in greeting someone of rank or royalty. She had a moments thought that perhaps she didn't know the Camarilla customs enough to say anything, but surely she'd be considered rude if she did not right? This wouldn't be polite at all. She surmised that she could very well wait for Samuel to speak. Yet, before the thought went further her eyes met the man that was referred to as Lord she bowed her head slightly and said,

"Good evening Lord Houghton. We thank you for the invitation to join you tonight."

She smiled, keeping her face pleasant but she was more uncomfortable than usual.

Leila could notice by the smile in Anna's and Lucy's faces that something about her comment was amusing in some way, still this was so subtle that only a woman could have noticed the timid expression on their lips. Simon and Hilbert on the other hand seem rigid and unhappy, not because of Leila's words, per haps that was their usual attitude.

Samuel sat next to Leila, his expression was very polite like a well rehearsed poker face.
"Good evening, Lord Houghton and distingued company. Leila and I are pleased to accept your hospitality."

The royal Scourge said.
"It's been a long way from New York City, was the trip pleasant as well?"

Samuel's witty hand touched Leila's knee rapidly, distracting from answering.
"No my Lord, nothing could be compared to the privilege of your company, still our trip went without inconveniences."

Leila didn't know why her comments got such odd smiles from the ladies at the table. Perhaps she was wrong in her assumption of traditions. She sat back against the chair a bit more a slight deflation you could say. Samuel's hand on her knee was a staunch reminder that this wasn't her place to speak upon. She had no intentions of declaring the effects of their travels. She knew better than that at least. So she sat and smiled politely, listening and watching. Resigned to observe rather than embarrass herself. She was a newcomer after all and this was something she'd have to repeat, so she'd better pay attention.

Lord Houghton said.
"Seems that Ms Sorayya insn't confortablem that's very unfortuned. Per haps is something I can order for you to make you happier, is it?"

All eyes, including Samuel's went directly to her, increasing the social pressure she was feeling.

"It's a lovely night, would be a shame to waste it in trivial chat when there's so much we can share with eachother. Don't you think Dr. Garrison?"

Samuel smiled politely.
"Yes Lord Houghton, you're absolutely right. Sorayya is mysterious, let her surprise you with the hidden nature of her expression. I bet, she's thrilled to be here."

The word 'bet' seemed to have a special effect over Houghton.

'Sorayya is very mysterious indeed.' Leila mused in her head, 'Especially because she isn't here, darkness itself is here.'

She smiled sweetly towards Houghton. Her brow raised in reply to his reaction at the offer of a bet.

"Are you a betting man Lord Houghton?"

Her eyes went to the women at the table. Then the other men and finally back to Houghton. She leaned forward again pressing her hands, one over the other, on the table. Her smile grew more deliriously dark and very tempting.

"Because what I am thrilled about, is what you would like to share in lieu of trivial chatter as you say?"

The blue blooded smiled and with fancy manners he added.
"I'm indeed a betting man. I love to bet, the Art in it is to learn when to bet: when to push and when to withdraw. That's why I always win Ms Fadur."

Houghton's reply made Anna giggle.
"We all know that process had to come from a learning experience, win and lose. Per haps My Lord, you meant that you haven't lost... lately. Is it so?"

Then Simon added with a screech for a voice and a piercing gaze.
"We all know our names but we haven't been properly introduced. All Kindreds here are very interested in knowing how Followers can be useful to us and of course how this Royal House can be of use for you...

So the real question is, with what purpose have you come to Boston my dearest guests?"

Hilbert who was silent replied.
"There's a difference Simon between leaving out the cheap chat and making our guests unconfortable with lack of touch and refinement. Wouldn't you agree Lord Houghton?"

Houghton nodded in affirmation and Samuel smiled again looking at Leila letting her to answer to the hosts questions.

Leila looked to each in turn as the barrage of inquiries and questions began. She didn't appear concerned or flustered, just generally listening and collecting her thoughts.

She turned first to Hilbert,
"Mr. Hilbert, your concern is sweet. I do however appreciate getting right down to business, even if it is necessary to sacrifice pleasantries."

Then she addressed Simon.
"As for your question dearest, Dr. Garrison and myself are here for social reasons. This trip was a surprise for me, I did not know we were coming here until he told our driver the destination. It would seem Dr. Garrison is interested in having me cultured historically being that this is the oldest and perhaps even the finest city in this great country. On the other hand, if there is something you need from us, well," Her sweet gaze tittered in Samuel's direction.
"I am sure Dr. Garrison would agree that we would be happy to help. Now Lord Houghton, I am curious to know what are the odds in this bet you are currently making?"

The Lord smiled widely and gathering all the charism and posture he had, Houghton said.
"Very good Ms Fadur, esplendid I'd say..." no sound of irony or threat could be found in his words.

Samuel added.
"Sora dear, you're being too modest, however I can accept that I should have warned you before. I understand your complain." even that Leila didn't make it sound like a complain at all.

Lucy silent until now added.
"How rude Dr. Garrison, to bring Ms Sorayya here wrapped in veils of sweet words with laces of promises. I hope for the sake of your gentlemanliness that you compensate her enough."

Samuel replied.
"I believe there's no need to compensate my lady, except for the trip itself. Even to the risk of losing my gentlemanliness we Followers trust in our peers adaptability, we appreciate it as an outstanding virtue."

The Lord intervined again.
"I'm intrigued by those words Doctor and amazed by Ms Fadur charming manners, seems that she can adapt very well once she starts to feel at Home.

Per haps you're looking for a new place to adapt to?"

Sam's reply.
"Of course, monotony more inexorable than gravity when it comes to anchor potential. Comming here allows us to refresh the acumen of our social skills."

Leila studied Samuel as the conversation continued. Hoping beyond hope, he hadn't intended to stay here.

Welcome to Beantown (Leila) - Page 2 Empty Re: Welcome to Beantown (Leila)

Leila's comment caused a second of silence on the table, Anna the youngest among the Elders look at Samuel showing a slight of her thoughts, taking Leila to a long time ago, witnessing Sorayya when she was just a little girl, at that time enjoyning a party the best way she could, thrown in the floor making sits for her dolls with the cups, glasses and boxes she could find below the banquet table.

On of the guests suprised Leila, asking her to come out, that man had the exact look in his eyes that Anna had today, at that time the men asked for Sorayya's father to come but today Tantra wasn't around to get a complain, so Anna looked at Sam full with expectation.

Samuel Garrison smiled, lowering his head ashamed in a gesture of apology, thinking also his next move. His expression usually kind and forgiving changed to the one Leila had seen a few times already. Sam was dwelling in wrath, embracing a punishment for Leila that would hopefully fit the felony, and she could only hope it wouldn't overpass it.

Welcome to Beantown (Leila) - Page 2 4627_6_1006

Slowly he turned to look at Leila. He was now smiling with a perfect facade, allowing none of his angerness to show. He said.
"My dear, there's no need to change your roots because home lays wherever your heart is. I trust my heart at all times and also should you, if it tells me to come here I shall, knowing that I've done the right thing regardless of everyone elses thoughts.

This city, as you call it, is sitting in front of you, not just the one that you could find outside right now looking at the window but the City from the last 600 years until now, just there, humble and polite, waiting to embrace you. Don't be afraid my dear, they're here as our friends and hosts and it's our duty to correspond them in the same way."

Leila sat stoic and still as she received the calmed version of Sam's rage. The childe had lost her way playing about with the adults apparently. She looked to Sam with steady eyes intent not to show weakness but humility.

"Yes Dr. Garrison you are absolutely right."

She turned to look at the guests across the table. Her hazel eyes gleaming with her apology.

"I am sorry if I have offended you all in anyway. I regret to have caused you any disrespect. I am unfamiliar with your customs."

Her hands were outstretched in a welcoming manner.

"Please forgive me."

Then she looked to Anna particular.

"Anna I would ask that if you or anyone seated with us, have an issue with me that you do address it to me. I am not Dr. Garrison's childe, nor his responsibility. I do hope that we can find grounds to move past this as I would like to get to know 'the city' as you put it. Would you tell me about your views of this city and its occupants Ms. Anne?"

Her brow raised slightly and she sat forward a bit more in her seat. Hoping at least that the tension was relieved and not further aggravated.

All expresions were wiped from Anna's visage it felt like the calm before the storm, then suddenly a polite and warm smile appeared like a sunshine. She opened in her body language looking around asking permission to explain to the youngling in front of her, what was this city all about in her perfect Bostonian accent.
"Of course Neonate Sorayya, I'd gladly." a short pause.

Welcome to Beantown (Leila) - Page 2 Mila-kunis-in-black-swan

"Boston was founded 500 years ago by the commoners as the human history explains, here they fought against the native as I'm sure you read during your human existance but... it's not about the human history book I'd like to talk about, instead let me take you in a trip through a world way beyond human imagination.

Madelaine Coventry was the first vampire to step into the New World's wildlands."
even Samuel responded with awe to the name, changing his position in the chair to a more insightfull posture.

"America, as you call it, wasn't the name the first settlers gave to this land, as loyalist they called it New England, later they settled near the harbors and called this very city as Boston, they City over the Hill. It was meant to be a model of Christian Charity and Purity. However context is very important, because the first colonies were made by people lusting to leave their homeland, due to persecussion and social obliterance, those were of course the resulting groups from the Luteran Revolution, a splinter in the crowns throne for King George the third.

Welcome to Beantown (Leila) - Page 2 Puritans_engraving

Madelaine just as her kindred and human companions were willing to leave England, their home land Winchester to conquer and settle in this land and found the first Coventry, not in Salem, as some have ventured to say but near the First Harbors, called in honor of her original Chantry, Winchester."
Anna's tone was educational, remembering Leila of her classes during her studies in Egypt, however she wasn't open to be interrupted as many teachers would be, each pause was acompanied with the proper body language and entonation to keep the public entertained.

Leila leaned back as she began to explain about the city. She was slightly relieved at the change from hostility to education. Even if it the conversation began with an undermining. Leila knew this particular vampire was the one to watch. Leila kept stoic and calm, listening and watching her and Samuel out the corner of her eye. The tale grew more intriguing as she continued and Leila dare not interrupt, she'd just barely managed to restore the calm and it was obvious there was more of the story to tell.

The explaination continued, she explain in the same manner how wild were these lands, about the wolves hunting the incoming kindreds and werewolves alike a time when many of that kind allied with Boston Kindreds, ties that still endure in modern nights.

Welcome to Beantown (Leila) - Page 2 High-moon

"Boston", she said, "was created as a magical city, design by Mason Masters among Kindreds and humans to asure to the City on the Hill the best protection against evil and wealth as magic could provide.

When the American Revolution came, a time where the Sabbat stroke hard into the Camarilla's heart. They destroyed Madelain and her childes, leaving disorder and chaos behind for several years under their grip. At that time most Camarilla's from the Old World worked against local Kindreds, that interruption in the power chain was due to Madelain's upheaval against her Elders, leaving her alone for the Sabbat's hordes to feast on her."

Samuel was stoic as well, probably regreating the history class of things that were clear to him, most he had probably experienced directly but still he had to listen camly as a punish for bringing Leila to the table. She noticed that Sam didn't even looked at her.

"For many years we struggled to gain back control of these walls that guards us from the perils outside. Walls that also protects our friends and foes alike, since our effort to keep New York and Boston as strongholds against chaos and disorder also benefits Clans that show not liance to Camarilla's Traditions, such as yours Neonate.

How would it be for the Followers of Seth to live in a Sabbat controlled city? I remember a time when New York City, our economical stronghold and peek of progress, a place we worked for decades to build, was taken by the Sabbat under their control. You'd do well to ask your Sire about those nights to gain some insight of our work and how it quietly helps your Clan's benefits."

Welcome to Beantown (Leila) - Page 2 Nellfp

The rest of the group seemed to be pleased in general, the explaination was making a clear point on several topics and of course Anna's politeness to ask for permission before going into that long talk made then be smooth and calm during her ponency. The Lord was a great listener, he seemed open and aware of Anna's every word nodding or showing empathy to her expressions as she talked.

"After many years Lord Houghton found a way to break the Sabbat grip over New York and Boston simulteaneously. Here in Boston Tzimisce's had their Archbishopsy while La Sombra Clan controlled New York, each clan has its own peculiarities and as beasts they're, also their lust for violence and subversion. My Lord used the same tilt for desobedience and rebeldy that drove them against us, to go against each other, Tzimisce against La Sombra, brother against brother.

The Sabbat as you know hold a "democracy" that works on a darwinianian way of politics, where those who feel fit for power can challenge their Elders to combat and gain their positions. Nevertheless, Neonates are almost as humans, their existance have been so short that lack of the minimun perspective that leadership among Kindred requires, still they eager to be considered equal among Elders in their democratic ideal. So, just as He just had to point out that in truth neonates weren't taken as equals among elders, that they had to rebel against their domain and fight for True Freedom, acusing Tzimisce's Archbishop to be controlled from New York and La Sombra's throne to be a puppet under the Bostonian Master.

Soon their own system went against them, the very basis of their power, their numbers scattered into small groups, first dividing the cities, forcing their Regent to go to Mexico City and afterwards within their own cities a bunch of vampires claimed to be the voice of many and each Bishop had to negotiate even the most basic decisions making their governments slow and burocratic.

That's was when the Black Friday came an economical crysis, the last ingredient for the mix. The revolution erupted again, making obvious that Archbishops didn't had control over their so called Domains, fracturing and bringing down their entire power structure to the ground and only when they were ideologiclly defeated, economicly destroyed and ethicly undermined, only then our armies entered to rake their remains and regain power over our two more important strongholds."

Lord Houghton seemed pleased, he smiled and said.
"Well said Anna, my dear. Well said!"

Then he added looking at Leila kindly.
"To know about what we are now you must first learn where we come from. What you just heard is a great introduction to understand why we're sitting here tonight."

Anna bowed her head and said.
"Thank you My Lord. Sorayya, do you have any more questions? I'd gladly answer for any aditional historical reference you might be curious about."
